If they announce in next couple of months, there would be more than sufficient notice for parents. Esp. when you think about last summer when several charter schools only announced in the summer after families had committed that they would move for the start of the school year. The school needs to have something concrete to announce, before they can announce it. Whether it is in Ward 4 or elsewhere, there is a clear advantage to having 1 campus and all the LAMB families including myself would be pleased about that. So, let's just relax!
Except that that children are coming off of common lottery waitlists all summer and people are turning down other schools on the assumption that they will be able to attend LAMB. If there is information that can be shared with some parents it should be shared with all parents.
There is nothing concrete to share. There is a possibility of a move in 2018, that is all. There has always been a possibility of a move to consolidate -
LAMB has been clear about that and when you choose LAMB or honestly any charter school in the city, you are taking the risk that the campus may move. If you don't want that risk, you should choose your neighborhood public school. When there is something firm, I'm sure they'll tell us. Are you expecting the administration to share with us every time they visit a potential property or put in a bid for a property? For comparison, when my employer, a law firm decided to move us to a new part of the city, there wasn't some employee vote on the issue. They decided and let us know. Of course, here there will be public comment, charter board approval etc.
My point is just that we have to trust that administration is working on it and will let us know when appropriate.
