Yes - I take Effexor and topomax for migraines anyway so was already on two of the combos that it is mixed with. The drug worked for a good 6 months but I also majorly increased my cardio exercise - zero to 30+ miles of running a week. I believe it would have stopped working prior to 6 months otherwise. But - as I mentioned, it is a stimulant so it gives you an energy boost which is motivating to get up and go work out. However, you also have to question whether the increase in heart rate limits how far and how much you can push yourself with exercise. Plus the big question of addiction as I haven't tried to live without it. All questions I ponder on the treadmill. |
I didn't get that story! 14:50 here. I started at 320 on April 2 and now I'm at 303. |
Thank you so much for clarifying. I'm on month 4 and share your concern about maintaining the lost weight. From reading Anchor's interviews, it seems the majority of his patients stays on some dosage of Phenpro long term. Are you planning on going that route? Also, when you say it has stopped working, do you mean in terms of ongoing weight loss or hunger/craving control? I find I still get the latter, but weight loss has slowed down quite a bit. Wondering if cravings will come back, too. It's been very liberating not obsessing over food so much and I'd love to keep that. Wishing you ongoing success on this journey! |
WOW....just yesterday I was wondering why I am not experiencing daily headaches like i have been for years. I'm the pp who started Qysimia two weeks ago. It has Phentermine and topiramate in it. Apparently topiramate is exactly what needed to treat my chronic headaches and I didn't even know it. |
| What is the difference between Qysmia and PhenPro? How did you decide to take one versus the other? |
|
I'm the one who saw Anchors this week. After 2 days of taking a half, I was still pretty hungry. Took a whole this morning and holy cow- I walked past chick-fil-a and a cookie cake at the office a few minutes ago.
I'm down about 2 pounds from my weigh in on Wednesday afternoon. It's nice to not be controlled by food. |
| PP, do you feel jittery or speedy at all? any effects on your mood or concentration/mental clarity? |
|
10:07 here. Not at all. I did cut the coffee out completely per Dr. Anchors instructions. I had a bit of a caffeine headache last night but that's the only side effect besides dry mouth so far.
If anything, I'm getting more done than I usually do
|
For me it was that I could not be on any more antidepressants which PhenPro (Prozac) would have been. |
| Is anyone else getting constipated from eating so much less? |
Yes, although I don't think it's nearly from eating less, I think it's a side effect of one if the medications. Dr. Anchors mentioned it as a possibility, and if it's bothersome, I think he can prescribe something else to help. |
It's also from the phentermine. I've been taking Miralax. |
OK, I'll get some today. |
|
NP here: So Phenpro stops working after some months? I thought that was the case for phentermine taken on its own. Isn't the Prozac supposed to counteract that?
Would love to hear from people who have been on Phenpro long term and how it's working for them after a year or so. |
+1. This thread is very active but no one who has been off it for some time has chimed in. Im really curious as well, I have first appt with Anchors in June and I am worried about long term benefits and potential side effects. |
