I went to Be Lite after going to Dr. Anchors (because it was closer). They compound their own phentermine and give it to you in 15 (mg?) pills. I found it hard to mimic the effect of the prescription strength 37.5 that you get with Dr. A. 30 was too little and 45 was too much. I also found the 5-HTP/carbidopa didn't really do anything for cravings. YMMV.

Curious as to the cost- I was shocked that my visit w/ Anchors was only $140 for the (weird, weird, weird) 45 minute counseling sesh and 120 pills. What does Be Lite charge?

According to their website $180 every four weeks if you get the meds from them; 80 a visit if you take an Rx to get filled elsewhere. Looks like that was as of 2012 so perhaps a bit higher now.

Are they willing to change things up if it's not working? I guess I see the benefit of not going for the most potent dose right away.

Poster who went yesterday and took my first half a pill yesterday. Wasn't hungry for dinner. Like, food sounded okay, and I would have eaten out of habit but nothing I could think of really appealed to me.

I was worried about the sleeping aspect since I took it so late in the day (2pm), but I was asleep by 10pm and slept through (minus one kiddo wake up) until 6.

I took other half this morning. I could eat, but I'm not starving. Definitely feel a bit more focused. I'm a heavy caffeine drinker, so a little worried if there's going to be a headache from withdrawal later. I feel normal otherwise. FWIW, I've been on Prozac for about 6 months, so it's just the phen I'm adjusting to.

I was one of the posters in another thread - been on it for 9 months and unfortunately it has stopped working. Went up to two pills and doc wants three. I am not comfortable with that dose. I do still take it (probably addicted) because of the energy boost. I haven't gained the weight back but also started running 30-40 miles a week where I did very little cardio before. I could not have run 30 lbs ago. That being said, maintaining this will be hard. I don't regret taking it but the reality is that it is a boost to weight loss and not the magic bullet. Good luck.

I am very curious as to how PhenPro works long term. Dr. Anchors website claims most patients keep the weight off, but how does that work? Once you stop taking it, don;t you get hungry again and start eating more? I don't think its reasonable to expect someone to live on 1000 calories per day for the rest of their life. Would love feedback from anyone who has taken it, gone off it, and whether or not the weight came back.

I'm the one who saw Anchors yesterday. He flat out told me I didn't need the pills and they weren't a magic bullet. He has these "10 orders" to assist with the weight loss. He says if you do those, you'll have great success. If you don't, not so much.

So did he still give you the pills even though he said you didn't need them? Also curious how much weight you need to lose for him to say that.

He said they'd help, but the pills won't work without a lifestyle change. FWIW, I'm 5'5, 165. I need to lose about 30 pounds.

Ha! I'm 5'5 and 165 is my goal, well 160. Good luck. NP here started with Dr. A last week. Went to him 7 years ago with little success but quit in less than 30 days. I'm down 7 lbs in a week, hoping for 35 more.

NP here. How does he explain keeping the weight off works? Don't you get hungry again after you stop the pills?

I'm the one who saw him yesterday. And his focus is on getting you to follow his "rules", which are mostly just common sense: drink a lot of water, eat until satisfaction/not stuffed, use smaller plates, etc. etc. The whole idea is that some people take phen and literally just don't eat or eat small quantities of not healthy food. For people who spend time with a bit of a decreased appetite making healthy choices, the thought is that you've trained yourself to eat less food, you know what to eat and when to eat it and you shouldn't gain the weight back.

He's super weird especially with the whole lecture he gives on your first visit. But it's working for me so far so I'll take the lecture if it means I lose weight.

What are your stats 14:50? Agreed, I was like, can I just get out of here already?

Also, telling me the story how he married the first single patient who came in his door who he wasn't old enough to be her father...

Yes, they are. I started slow - 15 mg, I think - and then you have a follow up one week after your first appointment. They increased my dosage to 30mg based on what I described. After a few months, they increased my dosage again because the effects were less and I had stalled. The highest was 45mg. Once I'd lost all I wanted to (25 lbs) after 5 months, I'm weaning off this month. That may sound slow to some, but I was thrilled. I lose weight very slowly, but at least I finally lost it!

I'm on 15 mg a day now and have two more weeks left til I'm out. I was very worried my appetite would come raging back and I'd start to creep up, but I've gotten used to eating about 1200 calories a day and I'm SO much more mindful about food choices and needless snacking and desserts because I've been creating better habits for six months now. My stomach has shrunken and I've gotten in the pattern of saying no to dessert, and being satisfied with just having a few bites once in awhile. I haven't been this thin since I got married 20 years ago and it feels so good. I've had to buy all new clothes. Even my underwear were falling off of me and some of my shoes are too big! I have spent more than I should on new clothes and have packed all of my old ones away to donate.

I'm sorry to hear that. Are you taking it in combination with Prozac or similar? How many months did it work for you?
