Do you posters realize that this isn't about the video? So the video, Swift's likeness in it, etc. are not the point, at all. None of that was ever in discussion between the parties, nor has it ever been. The issue is the lyrics itself, so stop trying to drag the video into the conversation as the video was never even out when TS started this entire debacle with her lies.

Second, everyone here is aware that artists do NOT need to run anything, by anyone, right? Very few, if any, artists call one another to even hint that they will be mentioning them in a song. Does Eminem ring a bell? Do you think he called people to get approval before dissing them? No. He did not. And Kanye never needed to either. He tried to be her friend, he tried to create an open dialogue, which is well above and beyond what he needed to do as an artist, and she stabbed him in the back.

There's literally nothing genuine about TS and her posse of mean girls and I for one am glad that this is all coming to light now.

This stuff recently - I can get on board with them defending themselves. They knew how the phone call went and had the footage. But Kanye and Kim have been milking this supposed TS "feud" for years. Why include that stupid lyric in the first place? Why not just STOP TALKING ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT since they dislike her so much and apparently find her mediocre? Just STOP talking about her publicly! She did not try to "ruin" all those people. She wrote songs about them because she's an artist who draws inspiration from her own life. That song Mean is about a real person too, not that anyone cares about that because he's not a good looking household name. It's an amazing son that millions of people love and she was able to write it because of the strong (negative) emotion he created in her life.

Where she went wrong, imo, is letting the public know that any of her songs are "about" anyone in particular.

Fine but as if TS hasn't done the exact same thing. If she didn't want to be linked to them then why make her whole Grammy speech about kanye? Its supposed to be about her triumph on an album that has nothing to do with him and she invoked the feud. Why "make up" with kanye publicly? TS is very aware of her image and curates every word and picture. She got tons of mileage off the first kanye incident so she tried for a repeat. Got burned trying.

And even if it was about him - what she said in the speech is essentially true regardless of who said what on this phone call. He IS delusional if he thinks that he is what made her famous. Her 1989 album was a success on a magnitude that was unexpected even on her level. She did that without his help.
