I think it's an easy way to cop out of the world. I am not talking all women but some find it easier to live just for their kids. It makes life easy and no one gives you a quarterly review on how you are raising your kids and you can be a martyr.

There is no biological imperative for "successful and stable". These are manmade constructs. The bar to ensure children survive until they are old enough to procreate is a pretty low one.
