GDS's admissions calendar says they aren't sending out decisions until next Friday, 3/13. So are the folks reporting receiving letters all sibling applications (who might be getting a little early notice) or do we have a lot of people just making things up?

Oh god, I just imagined that call. Maybe they'll also discover I made up my kid.

No letter, just a call.

I can't remember which thread, but a poster reported that Maret's admits were mailed yesterday and the waitlist/nos were mailed today. I should've put that in context.

On Maret, spoke with Admissions today at Maret, was told the no's and yes' were not sent separately, so who knows what the situation is.
What factual information is the poster who posted No's went out today and Yes' went out yesterday basing this on?
Does she know ppl who only got Yes' so far AND did she speak to Maret and knows this to be the way it is.
Not sure because it's my first time on this site, but seems like some ppl speculate on here and post speculation and some ppl only post the facts that are confirmed.

Oh, I'm sorry. This makes me a bit sad (not your HHI, but your poor little guy. I think my little guy will be yours in 2 yrs!) Which school?

The fact that STA makes them play a sport during the "interview," was the first sign that STA would not be a good fit for my DS. The fact that all STA boys must wear blazers to school was the second sign. The third sign - the very thin envelope that arrived today. As another poster put it, should have just spent the application/testing fees on a nice brunch somewhere nice.

Holy Crap. It sounds atrocious.

They play a simple game of crab football during the interview. I suppose if you have a boy who starts crying and covering his head terrified of getting hit by the ball, his app would go into the circular file. Big deal, there's a dress code. OOOOh sooooo atrocious! Suck a egg.

Suck an egg? How old are you?!?!?! I'm guessing 50.

And it's not very nice to make fun of children.

I'm friends with several GDS moms of siblings, applying to preK and K for their younger child. Not a one has received a call or letter from admissions as of Friday night, 11 p.m

I'd love to know why the "accepted, GDS" poster from above gets to find out a week early.

PP: As I wrote, I should've put it -- culled the info from another thread -- into context. Next time I will remember to include "alleged" when I am citing secondhand info. Following is the AISGW calendar on notification dates, though that does not cover folks who are receiving calls from ADs.

That would be convenient since I'm going to have to make up some pretend money to pay tuition if my kid is admitted!

Thanks for the response that it was a phone call not a letter.

Not near 50 dearie. Didn't make fun of your son, but if that's how he experienced that little game, well that's just the way it is.

Great question. I am also sure that whenever the Sidwell letters start coming in, there will be about 150 posts on this board from people whose child "got in." In other words, I've learned to take everything I read here with several thousand grains of salt. Actually, having that attitude has made it pretty entertaining to read through some of these posts.

I don't know but I have heard that this is the year that waitlists will actually have some movement. Good luck!

After March, zero. You hope, I guess, that those accepted at a Big 3 get multiple acceptances. Even then, you're talking about no more than one half dozen making it off The List to the Promised Land.
