OR, maybe she thought it DID, & that's why she mentioned it

Gosh some of you are so nasty. She didn't owe you any information at all, do you see that? She shared because she felt like it and because other people have shared information before and you never know what someone might find useful. If you treat people so badly for sharing information then you can't be surprised when they don't.

Thank you PP. I'm sorry for your bad news. I bet you've got a sweet child and I hope the right path opens up for you soon. Please ignore the nasties in this forum. Some of them are so starved to make themselves better that they'd tear anyone apart, probably the skin off their grandmother's bones.

Some of you truly act as though you were raised by wolves.

Why did you just announce your salary? No one cares about that.

ITA. Plus, the info is useful because it's clear they didn't apply for FA, which makes the rejection of a 99% dc even more striking.

99% no FA is not a shoe in. We had 99% scores last year, applied to Beauvoir and Sidwell. Rejected from both. We are high income/no FA. Child is bright, kind, and had great recs. Go figure. This year, we are waiting for results. Somewhat different mix of schools.

We are not among the DC elite in job, income or breeding We just applied, went to the tour, took her to her play date, took the test, filled out financial aid forms and waited....... Was completely prepared to pursue alternatives if she did not get in but am very pleased that we do not need to.

Did you receive the financial aid you requested?

What nice Norwood moms! We are in, I am on the fence though. I love the school but feel like I should look at my public option. Thoughts? Help me make my decision This is for K.

My child is incredibly happy. So are all the kids we know of, and we have talked to several sets of parents in the class with whom we had other conenctions (preschool, common friend, etc.). I had the same doubts I think a lot of people have in the first few weeks of school: Is it worth the money? Is this really THAT much better than my public, which is one of THE publics? Is my child really getting much out of this? I got over those doubts pretty quickly. Our DC was sold on the very first day. A few weeks into the school year, DC came to me very seriously and somewhat distraught, and asked if I could please promise that DC could go to Norwood at least for FIRST GRADE? We caught DC a few morning ago sitting up in bed in the morning practicing songs for the Spring musical. We have a happy, sunny child who loves to learn (believe me, this is not just DC's disposition; the first preschool we were in before transferring did NOT evoke this response!). These are just a few disjointed thoughts that come to mind when I think about your question. It is the right choice for our DC and for us. I'll bet Mimi could put you in touch with some other current Norwood families. I hope you come, especially if you decide it is the right choice for you. Hope to see you around!

Did you get a call ? So early ? Definitely congratulations !!

I thought 99% is actually supposed to be a strike against your DC. The schools don't want (and aren't prepared) to teach the long tail of the bell curve. 80-95% yes. 99% not so much.
