War with Iran Part II

When you assume Trump does everything in service to Russia and its allies, then this whole thing makes perfect sense.

Key Points of the Proposal
Security Guarantees: A permanent end to the war and a formal guarantee that Iran will not be attacked again.
Sanctions Relief: The immediate lifting of all U.S. and international sanctions.
Regional De-escalation: An end to Israeli strikes in Lebanon and against other Iranian allies.
Strait of Hormuz Reopening: Iran agrees to reopen the vital shipping route under specific protocols.
Transit Fees: Implementation of a $2 million fee per ship transiting the Strait. Iran proposes splitting these proceeds with Oman.
Reconstruction Funding: Iran plans to use its share of the shipping fees to fund the reconstruction of infrastructure destroyed during the conflict instead of seeking direct reparations.
Nuclear Commitment: A reported commitment by Iran to not seek nuclear weapons and a request for recognition of its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes.
Frozen Assets: The release of all Iranian funds and assets frozen by the United States.

THIS IS FALSE.

The US has NOT agreed to this!

Yes they have. All of the things list can only be changed if the US and Israel want to invade. These are the same demand Iran has had from the beginning of the war.

Here is the wording of what the president said.
“We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to NEGOTIATE.”
IOW - this has NOT been accepted. It is a basis for negotiations. Trump will never allow Iran to continue to enrich Uranium.

And, my prediction is that ships will transit the strait WITHOUT paying a fee.

But if Iran does not stop bombing Israel like it is currently doing, all bets are off.

Tell me what points will Iran give up in negotiations? Remember you have just bombed them for over a months and not one of their demands has changed. Iran holds all the cards. These points are not demands they are facts on the ground.

F Israel. Israel is never honors a ceasefire. Israel needs a good kick in the head.

Iran has no navy. They have no Air Force. Their leadership and 2nd tier leadership is dead. They have been made a pariah in the region. And you think they hold all the cards?? Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

And if you’re not paying attention, Israel is not the one violating the ceasefire right now. That would be Iran.

What the hell is wrong with you?

dp - Our political leadership is 3rd rate (speaking generously) and we've fired tons of our top military leaders. Meanwhile, this war is more expensive than we can afford.

Which cards exactly do we hold?

Do NOT believe the shit other people are posting. They are pulling it off social media from Iran’s talking points. It is false.

Oh sure because Trump and Hegseth have been so honest and forthright. It's not like they threatened newspapers for honoring our American dead and insisted satellites to be turned off in the region.

He’s threatening again

Haberman: Netanyahu once again used false claims to manipulate America into fighting a war on its behalf.

Radical, extremist Zionists who unconditionally defend Israel’s policies and actions once again are proven to be miserable liars.

Of course they would accept it. I don’t think their country would’ve lasted another 2 weeks with the way Iran was pummeling them.

Israel’s historically known for TACO’ing during wars after a week or two : six day war 1967, Yom Kippur war 1973. Once their enemy gains momentum, they end the war

And don't forget, Iran's oil can now be sold.

He's insanely overreacting as usual, but he's right that CNN is misreporting the agreement.

Care you revise your prediction?

"The two-week ceasefire plan includes allowing both Iran and Oman to charge fees on ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf, a regional official said Wednesday.

The official said Iran would use the money it raised for reconstruction. It wasn’t immediately clear what Oman would use its money for.

The strait is in the territorial waters of both Oman and Iran. The world had considered the passage an international waterway and never paid tolls before.

The official, who had been directly involved in the negotiations, spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations."

Including Oman gives Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz a veneer of legitimacy. Smart move. But Trump has basically given Iran the equivalent of the Suez or Panama Canals. Strategically, this has been a big win for Iran. And they still have their uranium and will no doubt have nuclear weapons in a year or two. This morning Trump was threatening to end civilization in Iran. By the evening Trump surrendered to Iran. Republicans are such a disaster for America. They are both agro idiots and crayon-eating surrender monkeys.

The MAGAs are so desperate for this to be anything other than a total humiliation for Trump and his idiotic war.

Iran really pissed of their neighbors by closing a straight that is not theirs to close. Iran is now hated by all the neighboring Muslim countries

Iran has *always* been hated by its neighbors. All it does is fund terrorism in other countries.

Only in your crazy fundamentalist dreams.

Wow, so much projection. Iran IS a fundamentalist regime, you dolt.

We've also fired our top diplomats and put global negotiations in the hands of two middling New York real estate developers.

Post what the U.S. agreed to then.

1. Cease fire

2. Open Strait

That's it. Everything else is up for negotiation during the cease fire.

Even if you believe Trumps version, that’s not correct.
