It doesn’t matter. Run of the mill green card applicants wait years to get their cards approve. The slightest whiff of anything leads to a rejection. He is never getting his conditional green card switched to a permanent green card, which means he will have to leave. This is separate from his rights etc etc. |
No the 1/3 who are checked out. maga? Who cares? |
This is the act of a dictator. I know you like it. Keep your nose clean. Even the closest of the SS were under suspicion by Hitler for the stupidest reason. |
If they could have optioned not to approve you for a green card given what they know now, then they can pull your green card. |
Nah. The 1/3 checked out don't care either. |
This guy was dumb for not even waiting till he gets his long term green card to do this. Many people get their conditional green cards not approved for less. They are going to let his conditional green card expire and then deport him. |
And sorry for the wife. Great illustration of why you need birth control. |
Thank you. In general even if I find Khalil’s support of Hamas grotesque, I am an even stronger believer in the first amendment. I don’t think this is at all right (and I am generally in favor of schools kicking out the entitled brats that are disrupting education — but they aren’t the government). I have not seen anything truly attributed to him that would reach the level of terroristic threat, and he has never been charged as such. Just a lot of admittedly gross fanboying about Hamas. But, we allow people to have gross speech here. |
I dunno what you're talking about, marriage-based green cards are typically sorted out in 14 to 24 months. It's definitely not "years". And it's not "the slightest whiff", as marriage to a US citizen typically clears away most things that would bar admission, for instance, working without permission. |
For this alone we do not need to remove the conditions from his green card. Which does not have anything to do with his current situation. They could release him, wait for his conditional green card to expire, not renew it, and then legally deport him and they would be fully within their rights. His citizen wife can decide if she wants to leave with him or not. |
It still didn't give the legal right for ICE to take him from his home without a warrant or any due process. |
This. As far as I can tell, he was expressing opposition to genocide in Gaza. I agree with him and I am Jewish. |
That would have been reason to deny his student visa, and later his green card. |
