I am sure there is no one stop this but here is when legal immigrants are revoked from their rights because Trump said so!
A student who protested against Israel brutality is being stripped of his green card and deported: https://abc7.com/amp/post/ice-arrests-palestinian-activist-green-card-mahmoud-khalil-helped-lead-columbia-university-nyc-protests-lawyer-says/15998411/
When will this be enough? |
When you are overtly advocating for violent terrorism, this is a risk. He was espousing terroristic activity. It’s literally a law. |
What does “espousing terroristic activity” mean? What law? Stop making stuff up. Last time I checked, the First Amendment was actually the law. I’m Jewish and don’t agree with what this person said or did, but I am appalled by this arrest and the notion that lawful residents are being deported for exercising free speech. |
So why aren't those supporting Israel's terrorist government getting deported either then? |
Thank you for supporting the right thing. I am an immigrant Citizen and this feels my heart. This should worry everyone who is a naturalized citizen. The laws are not the same for us. Any day the govt can turn against us and declare the free speech we exercise is actually terroristic activity and we need to be deported. If this news does not worry you then you are not paying attention! |
Only a judge can revoke a green card. He’s testing you, America. Fight for this man to receive due process and for his right to free speech or he’ll come for you next. |
This is very scary! We are in dictatorship and there is no one to protect us. |
Trump is the classic idiot dictator. If they are on your side everything’s ok. If you aren’t then there will be made up charges. Example - When Trump’s MAGA people were literally chanting “hang Mike Pence” carrying around a noose set up with them. He let them go free as soon as possible. They were threatening the vice President while smashing windows and smashing police heads, that’s pretty much espousing terroristic activity. It’s literally a law. Yet Trump let them go free. You ok with that? |
I'm a naturalized citizen too and as much as I can see that we should all be entitled to free speech, I exercise my rights with discretion. This man being deported should have realized that there is plenty of anti immigrant sentiment going on right now. |
His wife is 8 months pregnant and they've illegally detained him and probably prevented him from attending the birth of his child?? monsters. losing free speech is a sign of impending doom ... |
There is literally a legal process the United States has to go to to strip a green card holder of a green card, and this literally ain’t it. |
I’m actually pretty curious about the intersection of green card law and law regarding terroristic activity. I don’t think this is a flat-out free speech issue or a flat-out terroristic threats issue. |
They gave the same first amendment rights as the rest of us. There aren’t two separate sets of laws. This admin doesn’t care about the laws. They are just going for what they perceive to be low hanging fruit. The majority of people in this country right now should be afraid. The category of low hanging fruit is being applied very liberally. |
This is potentially a bad precedent. It will have to go through the courts. The mitigating factor is advocating for Hamas - an officially designated terrorist organization. Yes, we have free speech. But foreign citizens - even Green Card holders - advocating for violent religious extremists like Hamas becomes a national security concern. Hamas is well known for suicide bombings, blowing up buses and restaurants, torture, slavery, kidnappings and so on. Green Card holders seeking to increase the influence of Hamas in America - and college campuses in particular - is definitely pushing some legal boundaries. |
Is there verification he has a green card. On May 17, 2024 there was an article from Al-Jazeera
A 29-year-old Palestinian refugee raised in Syria, Khalil wanted to get involved in the on-campus activism against the war, but he was nervous. Khalil faced a dilemma common to international students: He was in the United States on an F-1 student visa. His ability to stay in the country hinged on his continued enrolment as a full-time student. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/5/17/international-students-risk-immigration-status-to-engage-in-gaza-protests |
