In addition, I think Medicare will notice if someone hasn't made any claims over a certain period of time and will communication that to SSA as a potential person to check up on, to see if they are in fact still alive and just super healthy. |
Isn't that what Elon's language is meant to point to? "Member of the Parasite Class"? This is dehumanizing language. It is meant to target the weak, the ill, the vulnerable. |
The new plan is to gut the SSA so they just can't approve claims and make payments:

And also, SSA automatically stops payment for anyone listed as age 115 or older, this has been in place for a decade. |
Literally f--- Elon Musk. He's not elected and not American and he just found a man desperate to stay out of jail (Trump) who'd promise him anything if he used his cash and the social media company he bought to get this felonious unqualified man elected.
I've been paying into social security for older generations because I believe in it. He can't just take all that money for himself and his companies. He is mugging America and Trump is letting him. |
+1 But also the entire GOP is letting him. |
Social security is an INSURANCE plan. I've been hearing since I was in my 20s that Social Security would go broke and no longer exist by the time I retired. It's a favorite talking point of conservatives. I remember when the Bush administration wanted to let people invest their SS funds - thank God that didn't happen as the market crashed a couple of years later in 2008. I'm 62 next year and, no, Social Security still isn't broke. There's an easy fix to funding it - raise the cap on maximum taxable earnings for Social Security. Of course Elon, the greedy bastard he is, doesn't want that. |
Republicans have been open about coming for Social Security and Medicare for decades.
It's just that people don't believe they are serious. |
Coming for fraud, yes. |
It isn’t a Ponzi scheme because there is no fraud involved. Sorry you aren’t rich like Musk because you will need social security for your broke ass. |
Your broke @$$ will be eating cat food in a tent under an overpass when you’re old and retired. |
He is truly idiotic. I haven't really heard him speak, but I can't believe anyone trusts him. He can't even elaborate his point. Also, language is everything. Ponzi Scheme makes it sound sinister. Insurance makes it sound like a social serives program. Also, WTH does he care. He has so much money. I love all the DCUM MAGA saying to "go fight in Gaza if you support them!" yet not calling out Elon to "Just write a check to the US government if you really care about the debt!" If he had his names on buildings or was involved in any charitable giving, then sure, I might listen to what he has to say. |
I’m 100% supportive of ruthless, severe punishment for anyone who knowingly commits fraud like collecting social security payments for a deceased individual, but can we drop the social security charade and sever contributions.
It’s one thing that the hundreds of thousands of dollars that each employee and employer account has paid into system is going to lead to no benefit down the road … but why are we still topping off the accounts for others who HAVE gotten years of benefit? |
