It's a favorite talking point of conservatives. I remember when the Bush administration wanted to let people invest their SS funds - thank God that didn't happen as the market crashed a couple of years later in 2008. I'm 62 next year and, no, Social Security still isn't broke. There's an easy fix to funding it - raise the cap on maximum taxable earnings for Social Security. Of course Elon, the greedy bastard he is, doesn't want that.[/quote]
