MAGA's truth = "people are saying".. "see, there was that *ONE* instance".... |
The receptionist at my physician’s office is spending her birthday today going to the SS office. How utterly sad. We are broken. |
Because DOGE has got nothing. |
They did show us their third rate programming skills. Are we surprised they found nothing? |
They’re stopping paper checks.

Does she prefer to avoid the internet? |
Whaaaaat? |
|
It would. If Trump were serious he’d have an army of forensic accountants and fraud investigators on the case. Not teen aged coding bros. |
But they aren't. That's simply not the case. |
Exactly! Dems are not opposed to finding fraud or identifying government waste like many MAGA claim--it's the manner in which it's done that we object to. The whole DOGE exercise is not normal, professional, or accurate. The federal government is not a private company like Twitter. And MAGA is not the first party in power to try to reduce government waste. Clinton did it 30 years ago. |
The word if is doing all the work in your premise. DOGE hasn’t found anything above the audited .75% error rate— and most of that isn’t fraud. It’s actual user and SSA errors. Come back with this argument when actual fraud is even 1%, let alone 10%. Look, I get it. They want to find an extra trillion dollars, because they need to offset tax cuts to millionaires. And trillions flow though SSA, so it’s a good place to start looking for lots of $$ and an easy win. Here’s what is missing from their logic— because so much $$ flows through SSA, it’s already audited to death— internally and by external auditors. And always passes its audits. Maybe because it has good systems and there is minimal fraud. Maybe instead go talk to the DOD, which routinely fails the audits SSA always passes? |
Except SSA already has an army of forensic auditors— internal and external. There was an ALJ (one) teaming up with a Representative and MD (singular on both) to commit fraud back in 2010 or so. SSA is still dealing with the fallout and redetermining Huntington WVA cases. And people went to jail. Now internal quality review samples any ALJ with a payment rate outside the norm, and SSA cross checks to make sure no ALJ has too high a pay rate to a specific Rep. There’s your fraud. |
Well, assume she wants to be sure her claim is being processed. That's a lot easier to do in person and on the phone than wait for the website to spew something up or not. This is about people's ability to pay for food and housing, it's not a game or something optional. |
