Do tell. Aren’t you special. But if it helps you feel better to think that only gay white men can support women, specifically a Democrat woman, you keep living in your schizophrenic world of delusions. I’m sure you’re one of those women who needs your husband to tell you what to do, when to do it and how to do it. Sad, but unfortunately there are too many of you out there. |
This is an amazing retort. Gives one a peek into your brain. Lots of women are voting for Trump. I don’t assume anything about their sexuality because of that vote. |
No he wouldn’t, but if Biden is smart, he would pardon Hunter Jan 2, 2025, regardless of the outcome of the election. Trump pardoned people for far worse crimes. Shucks, if I was Biden and Harris wins, I would pardon trump for his federal crimes. Hopefully that would end the Trump chapter in this sordid, American historical timeframe. |
Oh darling. The aggressive homophobes always turned out to be the closeted gay guys. You should vote for Harris. Harris will be so much better for your husband and everyone else |
I'm so glad people are voting for Harris because of bathroom issues and standing up for the rights of biological men to wrestle with women rather than caring about our economy and mass illegal immigration that's straining our schools, housing, and healthcare system.
Dems are debased from all reality that matters to Americans every day when they have to go to the grocery store and now spend more than ever just to put food on the table. |
Elon musk just said voting for trump won’t fix grocery store prices. In fact, they plan on making it worse for ‘ a couple of years. ‘. |
DP and I totally agree with you about Covid closures and the way Dems blindly supported them in the face of lots of evidence that they were were both unnecessary and damaging. And I've been frustrated by the gaslighting by some on the left since we reopened and it became obvious how bad the lengthy closures were and how unlikely it is that they saved lives (look to Europe and Asia where schools were never closed for as long as in the US and where the prioritizied in person education and ensuring parents had adequate childcare yet did not suffer worse Covid deaths than we did). Having said all that, I can also see how Trump played into those bad choices. His response to Covid was so inadequate (and he and his supporters were so adamantly against common sense solutions like masking) that I do think a lot of liberals wound up with Trump Derangement Syndrome and reacted by just choosing "the opposite of whatever Trump wants" as a policy position. This was bad on both sides but what Trump did was a dereliction of duty and what liberals did was a policy overcorrection. FWIW I do think among people who actually make policy in this area, I don't think we'll ever do extended closures like that again. In DC for instance, the closures were largely driven by the teachers union playing hardball about returning person ("only when it's safe" where safe was constantly redefined with unrealistic requests like N95 masks for all children). But teachers are also the ones who have dealt with some of the worst fallout from extended closures -- huge learning loss and behavioral issues. I also think they realize the burden those closures put on many families (again without proper justification -- in DC closures at many school lasted well past when vaccines were made available to teachers) and the way trust was eroded between schools and families as a result. That's been bad for school culture and the necessary collaboration you need between schools and parents. I do not believe it will happen again, thankfully. And I don't think Trump would prevent it from happening -- it was the chaos he sowed that created the fear and distrust that made the prolonged closures happen in the first place. |
This is essentially what happened in the 70s to close the chapter on Watergate. Ford pardoned Nixon to prevent embroiling the country in lengthy legal proceedings over what Nixon did for the foreseeable future. He took a ton of criticism for it and I do think it was unjust in that Nixon did deserve to be punished for his crimes. However I can also see the wisdom of it in terms of ceasing the endless relitigation of the same conflict. But Nixon also rode off into the sunset willingly. He was content to retire and stay out of the public eye and even had some rehabilitation of his record later on (though eventually he did do that interview where he defended Watergate and the cover up and said "if the president does it, it's not illegal"). Trump is clearly unwilling to do that. We can't pardon him unless we're assured he'll stand down and we can't be assured of that so we can't pardon him. |
PP here. I hear you on that. It bit the big one! I guess I saw the early pre-Biden 2020 closures as more the result of chaos within the powers that be. Because the pandemic quickly became political, it was difficult for anyone to get a cohesive, bipartisan grasp on what would be a logical way to safely move forward. Ultimately, compared with the rest of the world, at least we were somewhere in the middle, response-wise. China sounded nuts! That was then, this is now. If anything, it was a reminder of just how heavily many of us rely on the essential programs that are on the chopping block! We missed them when we didn’t have access to them! But I’m not here to change anyone’s mind. I was just looking for reassurance—so far I’m mainly hearing arguments about how bad the left is or how the world is over if the Rs win. |
Don't kid yourself, elbowy strivers like Gavin Newsome hope she loses, so he can run in 2028. |
I think think Biden is bitter enough that he will say "eff it" and pardon Hunter. |
The ideal scenario would be Kamala wins the election, then Biden pardons both Trump and his son. This would help to defuse political tensions. |
If Trump wins, does Biden pardon him? I genuinely don't know if this is technically possible. But if it is, it would be best for the country...and would be a good look for Biden on his way out. |
True |
Trump has already signaled that he will pardon Hunter. |
