| Worst episode yet! I could not get into it and was bored to tears. Normally I like the multiple story lines, so if one doesn't interest me, then another will keep me going. Hope next week is better. |

I liked the story line OK, but didn't think it needed to be the whole episode.
But the last scene gutted me, as someone who lost her mom as a young adult and just a few days ago lost a close relative. |
| I'm glad Jack got to see what a full life his mom could have lived (did live, for a few years) without his overbearing, abusive father around. |
I didn't think it needed the whole episode either. Or they could have brought something new in the last scene, about Rebecca's future decline that would tie it in. I feel like we have spent way more time on Jack's emotional journey than Rebecca's, when her death is apparently going to be the culminating event this season. |
| Where was Nicky? Seems like he'd be present for the flashbacks to Jack's youth. And hard to believe Jack wouldn't have tried to let Nicky know that their mother died. |
Yeah, they completely erased Nicky from Jack’s childhood which was super weird. But I think they thought Nicky was dead during the period when his mom died? Also, Jack, if you don’t want your dad to come to the funeral, maybe tell him after it’s over. Did we know that his mom had left his dad before this? And when did she leave? |
| Doesn't really matter, but did they tell us where in Ohio mom lived? |
Jack disowned Nicky and told everyone he was dead. He was not dead and Jack knew he was living in a trailer in PA. Strange he would call the abusive father and not the brother for the funeral. Jack blames his dad for his limited life with his mom, yet Jack completely prevented his brother from also knowing their mom. Never showed that in the episode. |
| I'd hate to be the continuity person for this series. |
Yes, this made no sense. There was a photo of both boys on the mom's dresser, so one tiny acknowledgment but that's all. |
Yeah, I didn't understand any of this at all. Why were Jack's first thoughts to call his abusive father and not his brother? And why was this story even needed? I mean, we don't see Rebecca's parents other than the pre-marriage years so why all this attention now on Jack's Mom? |
Yeah I didn't understand where he was when they showed the kid stuff. Like he didn't go sledding with his brother? I thought from the flash backs he was pretty protective over Nicky when they were kids. |
It was sad, but boring. Jacks backstory is boring at this point in the show. The best part of the episode was the scenes for next week. |
Except they're bringing Cassidy back which zzzzzzzzzz. |
They had to have that call to Dad so Jack would be nervous about someone walking into the funeral so it was a surprise to see Rebecca. |
