Montgomery County Vaccine Passport Coming

Same here. All vaxxed (and all got covid 4 weeks ago) and won’t be showing any papers when we go out to eat. But we’re staying here in MoCo - we’re just not complying with this BS.

We’ll politely say “no thank you”, and then asked to be shown to our table. They asked, we refused. They did their part. They fulfilled their compliance with the rule. At that point, they can either make the decision to accept our money, or take the extra, uncompensated step of enforcing county ordinances for free, at the expense of customers.

Their choice.

Talk about putting businesses in a bad spot.

My 14 yo unvaccinated teen plays a sport and we pay a trainer, plus a gym membership. I guess the gym has to give that money up in order to comply.

Gyms are suffering as it is, and I’m sure they don’t want to lose the members they do have.

They’re not in a bad spot.

They asked, as required by law. I refused. At this point it’s on me, not them. They did their part. The noncompliance is on me, not them.

So arrest me. Let’s get this into the courts.

I’m happy to send an email. Any suggestions as who would be the most effective to email?

If anyone knows of someone who might be more receptive to opposing the vaccine mandate, I would love to hear it.

Send separate emails to your district councilmember and all four at large members. And when you send the email to Albornoz, keep in mind that he’s council president so he has a lot of power.

We are vacationing in PA, no mask mandates, no craziness. I guess PA wants our money more than MoCo.

The businesses should choose to shut down and reopen across the state line in VA then. MoCo will feel the pain of less tax revnue from the businesses. MoCo will become a less desirable place to live (who wants to have to drive across state lines just to go out to dinner?) and property values will go down.

Does that mean you’ll move to MD if so?

Yes. But like NYC, it requires valid photo ID too, in order to prevent fraud.

It would be an argument in favor. Maryland seems much better run than Virginia is likely to be over the next four years.

Can you post a link to back that up? Or is it just more misinformation from the pro-mandate crowd?

Hope it’s true just because restaurants have faced some challenges. I’m against vaccine mandates, but I do hope businesses are doing well in this county.

Yeah, thanks to our Republican governor, right? You want to come from Virginia (run by a Democrat the past few years) to a state that has been run by a Republican governor.

Would someone be willing to post a list or a link to the at-large members with their email addresses?

I think this is up for a vote soon?
