I have lived in this county for 20 years and have never emailed a single council member ever. But I did email against this. I hope they hears the message loud and clear. I don’t even care how they want to spin it, at this point. I’m just glad it didn’t pass. Hopefully they just take it off the table completely and don’t try to revisit the idea in a few months. |
| I am so happy that the county council did not vote for this, but we need to be vigilant in case they bring t back up again. Kudos to the people that testified rationally against this proposal. To the couple of nutcases that testified, please crawl back under your rocks. We do not need you. |
Agreed. The testimony from small business owners was probably what did the trick. And they are right. We have 2 family friends that had to close business in MoCo, due in part to the restrictions from the county. Adding more responsibility to these small business owners, without giving them ANY resources to enforce is just too much to bear. Kudos to that community for stepping up |
The passport is not practical. If we cannot get voted IDs to people, how are we to get passports to them? Then as mentioned before there are issues with verification and enforcement, let alone maintenance of the system. |
+1 million I don’t think they totally got rid of the idea. Possible it comes up again. |
| Not everybody has access to identification. This is why we don’t have IDs to vote. Yet they think it’s OK to mandate a vaccine passport? And the same requirement for identification is supported by the same people who don’t support an ID to vote. We can’t have it both ways. |
That you don't understand basic math and statistics. |
Don't worry. I'm not sure they will bring it up again with the next variant. COVID is an OCD-like obsession for some of these "leaders." They just cannot stop talking about. Almost all of the county executive's weekly updates are all about COVID and his Twitter profile photo is himself wearing a mask. |
Do you mean the basic math and data that clearly demonstrate that vaccinated individuals can and do transmit Covid? Being vaccinated protects you from hospitalization and death. It does not prevent you from giving other people Covid. Mandating vaccines is an incredibly stupid idea, from a public health point of view. Even Biden had to walk back his federal OSHA mandates. |
Yes. And what is going on at colleges is almost beyond belief. |
Universities have become like what we used to call nursery schools, except authoritarian versions. |
+1 million Mandating boosters. Without any solid science to back up the need for boosters in young adults. Johns Hopkins denied an exemption to this poor kid who had a DOCUMENTED adverse reaction to the COVID shot. I hope some attorney picks this case up for the poor kid. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/johns-hopkins-university-tells-student-his-adverse-reaction-to-the-covid-vaccine-isn-t-sufficient-for-booster-exemption/ar-AAT1AXO |

Vaccinated and boosted, and will NOT comply. This is America. I don’t need to anyone papers to go into a place of public accommodation.
Arrest me. |
