This is true. I am the PP who asked about circular reasoning, but I was not the PP who had previously asked who the Ryans are. But, that being said, who are they? |
| I can't speak about NU's graduate programs but its undergrad college is very Jewish. And I'm a Jew. Most Midwest gentiles either stick with their in-state flagship, a regional LAC, or try to get into Notre Dame if they're a top five senior at their Catholic high school. I grew up in the Midwest and didn't know anyone who "dreamed" of going to Northwestern. |
There’s this really neat invention called Google. You should try it. |
Stephen Colbert? Seth Meyers? Meghan Markle? David Schwimmer? Pharrell Williams? |
Also two of my favorite working actors right now, Billy Eichner and Lily Rabe! |
Oh don't forget Kathryn Hahn! She IS the moment. Love seeing her in her golden age right now, and she loves her alma mater. |
Meh, I don’t care enough. |
Hahah and yet you care enough to post multiple times in this thread. Sure, Jan. |
When Jan, who I presume to be a top gun of the HYPSM prestige defense squad, is confronted with facts not serving her rambles too well, she doesn't really care. Jan only cares about facts that work in her favor, or in Kellyanne Conway's words, "Alternative Facts." |
| Is the "who are they" refrain supposed to be some insult? I don't get it, if it is. I mean, they're multibillionaires. What more do you want to know about them? The vast majority of people who make mega-donations to these kinds of universities are not household names. |
I think Jan is in some mad disbelief that Northwestern, a second-tier mediocre university in a crime-ridden and deteriorating city in her eyes, is even capable of producing multibillionaires. She said in an earlier post that the word "leaders" only belong to HYP. A Stanford grad myself, I laughed out loud. |
Ok, yeah, distinguished alumni is one area where Northwestern most certainly isn't lacking. Pick better battles next time, PP!
|
Is it so lacking that Northwestern has to count Meghan as one its distinguished alumni? What distinguishable thing did she accomplish to warrant that? |
Dp. That looks to be from Wikipedia, not compiled by Northwestern. Even if you take Meghan out that’s quite an accomplished roster. Given that Meghan’s a household name and very popular with the younger generations, I would say she’s “notable,” opinions of her notwithstanding. |
|
This is bizarre. Can you, off the top of your head, name anyone who graduated from Princeton in the past 20 years?
Northwestern is particularly good at producing famous people because of their theater program. Also fame is definitely not the only measure of success. |
