Dumbest speech ever. He sounds like a Fox-addicted retiree living in The Villages. If we can have a minimum voting age, we should have a maximum voting age.

What do you think? 70? I'm so SICK of my parents' generation ranting in their dotard years about stupid s**t and ruining this country for my kids. I'd be all for a bill that forces them all out to pasture at some nice retirement community where they can play golf and rant in their senility about the good old days without doing damage to everyone else.

Hey now. 70 isn't that old. I hate Trumpkin but his age is irrelevant.

I know. But the Baby Boomers just need to F**K off and go away already. I'm sick to death of them. They got theirs as a result of the Post WW-II boom and now they want to close ranks and keep their own KIDS AND GRANDKIDS from profiting from the same. Or actually, come to think of it, they want to preserve it just for *theirs* (you know, the RIGHT people) and keep it from the increasing number of brown people. Either way, it's sick and I'm over their crap.

Do you understand what negotiate mean? Negotiate does not mean "I will give into your unreasonable demand". Democrats have been negotiating for reasonable immigration reforms - GOP needs to make up its mind.

35 Day Shutdown... No funding for the wall... Likely to see another shutdown in three weeks...Individual 1 is a clown

Anonymous wrote:Well, I guess one person still does care about a wall - President Trump. At the end, he said if there isn't funding by 2/15 for a wall, he's going to use his emergency powers.

Sure, he can try that stunt too...

My agency said to listen to news reports saying the President signed off, or check OPM's website.

I think Trump was free-balling that garbage speech. Nobody can be that bad of a speechwriter. It was like a Burroughs level of stream of consciousness

Banana republic territory.

Trump offered no explanation for his surrender, nor did he even acknowledge that it was one. Cabinet officials and White House aides lined the sides of the Rose Garden and applauded him. The president began his remarks as if he had actually emerged victorious, saying that he was “very proud to announce” what he called “a deal to end the shutdown and reopen the federal government.”

Someone should ask him - what was the deal - what did he get in exchange - did he get the wall like he had said in the televised dealing session when he claimed he would own the shutdown...

"He’s not going to sign a bill that doesn’t have money for the wall... if he gives in now, that’s the end of 2019 in terms of him being an effective president. That’s probably the end of his presidency."

- Lindsey Graham, January 2
