And has Yale kicked out that girl? She'd be a current freshman. How many California girl freshman are at Yale right now who were alleged soccer recruits who didn't make the roster? Can't be hard to tease out who that is ... meanwhile the narrative focuses on D-list celeb kids at USC.

1 down. 50 parents and a dozen bribery officials to go.

Test taker for large-scale college admissions exam to plead GUILTY. Mark Riddell was paid $10,000 for each test he took (24 in total) instead of a student in a SAT/ACT exam session. He was facing 20 years in prison plus a $250,000 fine for mail fraud and money laundering. Judge will chose to accept/deny plea and sentencing will include imprisonment.

I wonder if it's a Trump donor.

The initial tip led investigators to Rudy Meredith, the head coach of women’s soccer at Yale. He had worked with Mr. Singer in January 2018 to get the daughter of a California family into Yale by pretending she was a soccer player, according to prosecutors. The family paid Mr. Singer $1.2 million, according to the affidavit; Mr. Meredith’s share was $400,000. The family wasn’t identified. Mr. Meredith didn’t respond to requests for comment.

In April, Mr. Meredith met with the tipster parent, who was wearing a wire, at a hotel room in Boston, the person familiar with the matter said. During that meeting, Mr. Meredith offered a place at Yale for the parent’s daughter in exchange for $450,000, according to the person and court documents.

Afterward, Mr. Meredith began cooperating, authorities said.

The tipster parent has not been charged in the college case.

Stanford expels student admitted with falsified sailing credentials

The student was admitted with fabricated sailing credentials, and her admission was followed by a $500,000 donation to the university's sailing program. Stanford's president said he's confident that no one in the incoming freshman class is tainted by fraud.

2 down. 49 parents and a dozen bribery officials to go.

Felicity Huffman is pleading GUILTY. She was charged with $15,000 in fraud. Her sentencing should go much easier than Lori's half a million whopper.

"I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions."

"I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community. I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly. My daughter knew absolutely nothing about my actions, and in my misguided and profoundly wrong way, I have betrayed her. This transgression toward her and the public I will carry for the rest of my life. My desire to help my daughter is no excuse to break the law or engage in dishonesty."

One couple that balked, however, has been indicted with an added charge of money laundering, indicating the government is ready to wield more charges as leverage.

The actress Felicity Huffman will plead guilty in the college admissions fraud scandal, prosecutors said on Monday, along with 12 other parents and one coach charged in the sweeping investigation.

According to prosecutors, Ms. Huffman paid William Singer, the college consultant at the center of the case, $15,000 to cheat on her older daughter’s SAT.

“My daughter knew absolutely nothing about my actions, and in my misguided and profoundly wrong way, I have betrayed her,” Ms. Huffman said in a statement. “This transgression toward her and the public I will carry for the rest of my life.”

A total of 33 parents were charged as part of the investigation. One of two Hollywood actresses who were charged, Ms. Huffman is the highest-profile parent to admit wrongdoing.

That was a good statement and a wise plea. What she did was pretty indefensible and it sounds like she gets that now. Laughlin looks pretty darned shameless by comparison and guilty as hell.

Wonder if Huffman will get jail time...

If Huffman gets 12 months for her crime, then Loughlin is looking at 3x that. O.O I'm curious at what sentencing they're looking to hand down.
