I wish they'd change the matchups for semis so we'd see different matchups.

Prep DeMatha

SJC Landon

Instead of rehashing Prep Landon and SJC DeMatha again.

Credit Landon for a gritty comeback. They were pitiful offensively in the first half and made good adjustments.

PVI had no answer for zone defense.

I think P VI was up 4-1 in the second quarter. 5-2 at half. Then Landon came back. It was a good game. PVI was much better than I expected at the faceoff X and in the goal. Their goalie made some excellent saves.
I would rather see Landon play SJC than Prep for the fourth time unless it is in the final.
Prep DeMatha might be a good one as well. That way the IAC and WCAC aren't knocking each other off. But I don't know if the organizers want an all IAC or WCAC final.

Glad the kids got to play. We are a week left in what has been a turbulent two years. I feel badly for the kids who are seniors this year and missed out on any chance the late bloomers had to get recruited. I hope we have normalcy next year, and a rebalancing of more school lacrosse and less club lacrosse relatively speaking, which should mean better lacrosse over-all.

PVI coach seems like a nice guy but man has he squandered teams full of talent. Should have at least 1 WCAC Championship over the years. PVI will finally get a new coach. Unfortunately it’s the JV coach. Same system, same issues

You have no clue the offense has the best coach in the area by far. They are a young team may be better next season.

Offense has the best coach? But they couldn’t break a zone? Ok ✅

Episcopal beat then with a zone in VISAA finals. Two weeks later they weren't ready for more zone when Landon went to it. Low offensive outputs against a lot of quality opponents. Landon made adjustments and won the second half 7-3.

Obviously, kids don't always run their plays well, but hard to defend "offense has the best coach in the area by far" at PVI with that data when consensus is that they have some good offensive talent.

Coach Waters has been good for PVI and DC lacrosse. They've gone from irrelevant to always in the mix, and he has left a strong core with a huge ceiling as they can corner the Loudon market for kids looking at private. With the right coaching and recruiting moving forward, they could be very much on the rise.

The coach was not at the game because he is coaching in the PLL

Was he there when they mustered 6 goals in the Virginia state finals?

PVI goalie last night made some spectacular saves, he was the difference maker in my opinion. Landon looked more athletic than PVI and it showed in between the lines and certainly at the defensive end of the field.

I too would rather see Landon take a shot at SJC and Dematha take a jab at GP.

Landon and GP have already played 3x this Spring and SJC and DM I believe once maybe even twice.

It will be interesting to see if the event organizers and head coaches agree to re-seeding the field for the final 4.

Regardless, I love this end of the year tournament between the WCAC and IAC. I do hope it sticks around and this is the beginning of an end of year playoff for the top teams.

PVI goalie was a monster. Definitely a difference maker. Hopefully PVI has someone waiting in the wings but that’s going to be a tough role to fill since they lose him to graduation.
