She’s the worst, so no surprise. You won, Maret. |
She is so corrupt. |
"I think our director at the hearing was very clear about the process that they engaged in. It was a regular process to renew the agreement. It was contemplated at the outset of their first 10 year arrangement. There was community engagement in the process and Jelleff is indeed a very special asset and I think we have some opportunities - more opportunities - in the neighborhood to make additional investments in other parks and we intend to do that." In answering the next question, she then makes a pointed dig at Mary Cheh for using her position as chair of the committee on general services to prioritize investments in Ward 3 schools over Ward 8 schools. |
This is about 39 minutes into the show. |
Bowser’s support for this has been clear for a long time now. It will come down to whether someone on the Council intends to introduce a resolution on it or, failing that, the courts. This issue is not going away anytime soon. |
Looks like Bowser is sending her daughter to Maret. I guess SP elementary school parents can rest easy that she won't take a pre-K seat. |
She sucks |
Most people are guessing she’ll send her kid to parochial, as she is Catholic and attended parochial herself. |
But she does love real estate developers, and there are a number of those in the Maret community (eg, Abdo, EYA). |
Or to Georgetown Day. it was the first of the top tier private schools to be integrated, has a strong social justice curriculum, and it is more diverse in its students and board than its peers. Some of DC’s most prominent real estate entrepreneurs (eg, JBG) are in GDS school community. |
Funny how she parrots Maret’s (bogus) talking points. And the East Coast liberal elites wonder why the rest of the country hates them so much. If a conservative news outlet gets a hold of this, it will be ugly. Just imagine what this would look like from Peoria. |
It's just disappointing that their solution is to just spend more money to even out the giveaways. What's her plan for ten years from now? Are we allowed to stop the giveaway then? |
St. Patrick's. Ironically, they got approval to build a high school but never built it, they ran into financing problems. The field sits essentially unused. Due to zoning it can only be used by students at the school. |
Where? |
Here is what I find very curious. Bowser, like Hunter, refers to the supposed agreement that the deal would be renewed if Maret was a good partner. This isn’t written anywhere and neither Bowser nor Hunter were around in 2009 (Bowser was council member for Ward 4 then and would have no reason to be involved). The only person who was around was Jack Evans, so it seems that Bowser is bowing to Evans on this. Where is the Examiner when you need it? |
