Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread, Part 4

For people who think this is all a partisan hatchet job, why don’t you think the Democrats pulled out the hatchets for Justice Gorsuch? He was confirmed with three democrats voting for his confirmation. There were issues raised about things he wrote, but I don’t recall his credibility or his temperament being issues.

It's similar to Kavanaugh saving his calendars. I really think those guys were planning for their memoirs all the way back in high school.

Oh, that could be the reason. I was thinking - here’s someone just like my husband who saves every last piece of paper (until our attic was infested silver fish nesting in the old papers and I made him throw it all out- poor man). That they were planning their memoirs for their future fame is a better explanation. Pretty arrogant.

This is what I thought. I can see them doing something like this.

She said on the stand she had not told anyone else besides her husband, therapist, and later the friends she was with at the beach.

She didn't say she told him - so he felt the need to write a freaking letter to say that?

As for the PTSD - those symptoms can come on at any time for the rest of your life. Almost 1/4 of PTSD cases are delayed onset.

He just wanted to feel important.

I bet her talk to her friend about a polygraph was like, they are going to hook you up, just stay calm, it is NBD. You are going to do GREAT!

He is an ass.

Yeah , he does seem like a huge douche.
She’s living in Hawaii and he’s in the US but she’s being unfaithful to him by dating others?
I’d be humiliated if I were married to him now.

I'm just sure you mean, ALLEGEDY attacked a woman. Funny how that one little word changes things.

No, you don't understand. They don't care if it's a proven fact that he attacked a woman. They don't care if he gets drunk and beats his wife every night. They only care that he will uphold what policy Republicans want.

That's just B.S. and you know it. What we have are allegations. Nothing more. If there was incontrovertible proof, that would be that; but that's not what we have, is it?

DP. That's what the investigation is for. But you don't care enough to wait for its conclusion before you rush to judgement.

What do you people have to say about the president mocking Dr.Ford today?

I believe Dr. Ford.

But if I am wrong, HE HAS SHOWN US WHO HE IS AND IT IS NOT GOOD!

The man is a clown. A baby. Unethical.

Unfit for SCOTUS.

I'd say we have a huge stack of incontrovertible proof that he was a mean drunk who drank a lot and passed out or did things he doesn't remember. We also have someone who says 100% it was him. He was so drunk so much, how can he KNOW he cannot.
Judge said in his book that he could have killed someone and not known.
Then add in that it is clear he has lied his ass off.

He HIMSELF was on a panel of judges that held that someone can be convicted of a bigger thing if they are found to have lied about a smaller thing they used to exonerate themself. That is exactly what he has done here. He lied about small things to exonerate himself. He will not be convicted of attempted rape. But he is unfit to get confirmed to the supreme court.

You still don't understand. They don't care if there were incontrovertible proof. If they had it, they would hide it. If it were made public, they would deny it. That's why they have been rushing this through from the beginning. That's why they are withholding 100,000 documents. That's why they could hold up Merrick Garland for a year but can barely hold up Kavanaugh for a week. That's why they didn't want Mark Judge to testify about it.

And don't tell me what I know or don't know. You don't know me at all. I have my own opinions. You have yours.

Gorsuch is a decent man. There are plenty of conservative judges on the court who are or were decent people - Roberts, Scalia? - so why protest?
Judges aren’t supposed to be partisan and apoarently I’ve come to learn that Gorsuch might be but still - he’s a decent, intelligent man. It should work out ok.

He’s an ignorant ass with the mind of a 3 year old? Nothing’s changed - why comment?

I would say he is unfit for president. Thank goodness we can vote him out!

You just have to get over the Merrick Garland thing. They could do it, so they did it. Unless a new law is passed I’m sure that the favor will be returned one day. But being bitter doesn’t help.

I'm still trying to figure out what his letter means in these scope of things. That a bunch of high school/college guys got drunk while at the beach. Nothing in that letter is any different then anything he said in testimony.
