I hope they sue RUI like crazy.

Your last point - if there are that many people who have been affected at that resort, isn't that more than just a "they"?

Yes. Totally agree with you. I hope the place goes bankrupt and gets shut down. I don't even care about the unemployed locals.

It’s cheap and people go for the all inclusives to party. They think it won’t happen to them.

And this is because 99.5% of problems that occur are the fault of the tourist/victim in question, and easily avoided by not doing stupid things. Stay with your group/party when outside the resort or in the evenings, don’t get overly drunk, don’t wander into non tourist areas, don’t wander alone at night, use only hotel vetted or pre arranged transportation, and do no do drugs/buy drugs or be around anyone who does. Nearly all of which are wise rules to follow while in the US as well.

With the exception of those who are drugged against their will or have their drinks spiked, yes. That is entirely outside their control.

I feel very bad for this girl nevertheless, and very sorry for her family. A lot of college students make very poor choices and come out just fine- some will not.

Video shows the beach is some distance from the resort. She was alone and unprotected and visibly impaired.

I don't see anywhere on there that kidnapping wealthy American tourists for sex trafficking is a thing. The whole point of sex trafficking is taking people who no one is going to make a fuss over, or who maybe no one will even notice is missing. An American college student is not that.

This isn't an American tourist in fact the title should be missing college student from India

She was a student at an American college. Living at an American college.
Why are you people so invested in othering people??

It’s because language and accuracy matter. She’s not American. That not casting aspersions, it’s the truth.

I was in complete agreement until I read the reviews. These people were without AC and water for days. It sounds like it was complete mess.

The next day he was told she had not returned.

He did not make any report.

Yes. We’ve said they were all wasted and not capable of making good decisions.

I don’t think it’s so weird that he didn’t make a missing person report… He had just met her a few hours earlier. They kissed in the ocean, got carried out by a wave, made their way back to the shore and he began puking the water that was he had swallowed. When he was done puking, he looked around and said he thought she had Gone back to her room. Since they barely knew each other that does not seem odd to me at all. Why would he think she was missing?

I mean, the boy was so wasted and high that he passed out on the beach, he doesn't remember anything about that night. He might think he dragged her to the beach, but he doesn't actually remember.

Pretty sure her friends have said that several of them went down to the beach initially.

That’s one of the few known facts of the case. There’s video of Shadiksha and her 5 girlfriends and the 2 guys they’d met that evening all walking to the beach at 4am, the 2 of them arm-in-arm.

She is Indian-American. Probably has done most of her schooling here and primary language is English. Will probably take citizenship as soon as it is offered, but it takes a while. GFY racist
