Country need tourism. many people need places to vacation and Caribbean area has been popular. People are still going after reading or hearing such stories. What next?
It’s cheap and people go for the all inclusives to party. They think it won’t happen to them.
And this is because 99.5% of problems that occur are the fault of the tourist/victim in question, and easily avoided by not doing stupid things. Stay with your group/party when outside the resort or in the evenings, don’t get overly drunk, don’t wander into non tourist areas, don’t wander alone at night, use only hotel vetted or pre arranged transportation, and do no do drugs/buy drugs or be around anyone who does. Nearly all of which are wise rules to follow while in the US as well. With the exception of those who are drugged against their will or have their drinks spiked, yes. That is entirely outside their control. I feel very bad for this girl nevertheless, and very sorry for her family. A lot of college students make very poor choices and come out just fine- some will not.
I was in complete agreement until I read the reviews. These people were without AC and water for days. It sounds like it was complete mess.
