Not PP but not sure what I’m supposed to be “holding my party accountable for.” No one has answered my question as to specifically what crime the leaker committed? A LOT of leading Republicans have said they don’t think that any people did anything wrong on January 6, that the officers let them all in, that it was “legitimate political discourse,” that no one died, that all the perpetrators are wrongly imprisoned, blah blah blah. |
Democrats want the focus to stay on the opinion and not the leak because the opinion is devastating for Republicans. Republicans are trying to get everyone to focus on the leak rather than the opinion for exactly the same reason. I doubt Schiff knows who leaked it or even which side of the Court it came from, and there’s no political value for him in speculating. The substance of the decision is the better focus even if it came from one of Alito or Thomas’s clerks. |
Great points here, and more reasons why a leak from the left makes no sense. Also, the entire GOP is about to get exactly what they’ve wanted and have been working and praying for for fifty years. Why are they yammering about the leak instead of shouting their success from the rooftops? |
Cause the dog finally caught the car. |
Ooooof, this is a great point. They got a rare societal level “victory”. Where are the parades and honking cars to “celebrate”? It seems like they don’t want to take responsibility. |
Working the refs! Nice, right winger! Actually the first night this broke, the NYT didn’t bother with this travesty of a decision; they were all in on the leak, just as you’d suspect from a right wing outlet like NYT. No one cares about the leak in the face of the fascist GOP telling women they can go get fcked, we have no rights. (For my money, it was absolutely a right winger leaking. If you want to talk about a group of people who want to destroy America and its laws and norms, look no further than the GOP). |
Don’t kid yourself. Politico knows how the leaker is. |
| It is scary when the courts limit rights as a human |
I'm responding to a poster who has corrected a post. So we are talking past each other. You and I agree. |
+1 Should the people expect to have their will reflected by those they elect? Prime example: "Kavanaugh, though, has a distinct honor: He will be the first justice nominated by someone who lost the popular vote to earn his seat on the bench with support from senators representing less than half of the country while having his nomination opposed by a majority of the country." https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2018/10/06/senators-representing-less-than-half-us-are-about-confirm-nominee-opposed-by-most-americans/ This is why the court is a joke at best, dangerous at worst. |

Not in heavily gerrymandered districts. Not in districts that attempt to disenfranchise their voters. |
