War with Iran Part II

I’m struggling to understand what our delegation of unelected and unqualified idiots is doing in Pakistan- Iran won’t see them. So they are just standing around pretending to be important? What is the point of the wasted jet fuel?

“The first casualty of war is the truth.”
So take everything with a grain of salt.

The Iranians have left Pakistan without meeting. At this point, they are just humiliating Trump.

They know that Trump has a deadline on April 29, which is the 60 day limit without congressional approval. Between now and then Trump will need to either keep things low key enough to give GOP in congress an argument why they should vote to declare war (e.g. we need it to tidy things up), or just end the conflict entirely.

I suspect Trump will want to keep the war going until he meets with Xi in May, so that he can keep inderdicting Chinese vessels on international waters, and use that as a bargaining chip.

By then oils sands and fracking in north america will mostly protect us from the global supply problems. Honestly I don't see why Trump wouldn't just keep the status quo as long as possible.

I seriously doubt that they're looking at that 60 day limit. Trump's obviously going to ignore it. He pretty much broken every rule and convention since being re-elected. I just don't think the Trump administration has any credibility so Iran is blowing them off. Trump's a complete lame duck in the world's eyes.

You ignore the global impact and the direct impact on the US Economy. Trump literally has no cards other than using nukes, god forbid.

He needs to tuck tail and move his sights on to something else and let the world clean up his mess, without the US involved.

He already has moved sights to the Xi meeting. That's why our navy is boarding vessels in-bound to Iran (not out-bound) and in international waters. Now he's claiming they found a 'gift' for Iran on one of those China ships.

I don't think he cares about the world economy. I do though, and I fear for all those people who are going to be hungry this time next year. But that may be unavoidable at this point in late April with the planting window closing in just a few weeks.

I think the reparations to Iran should come out of trumps private accounts, not taxpayers.

Donald Trump has canceled the planned trip to Pakistan by envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff for peace talks with Iran, Fox News reported on Saturday.

The network said Trump told Fox about the trip’s cancellation, quoting him as saying: “We have all the cards. They can call us anytime they want, but you’re not going to be making any more 18-hour flights to sit around talking about nothing.”

WTH just happened??

Iran isn't going to negotiate with Trump. He has no credibility. He has no cards. He can play terrorist and commit war crimes, but Iran will just absorb that and keep count.

So what next? Wait for congress to slap trumps hand and shut this down?

Move on to finishing the White House ballroom with as much gold as possible.

I think the plan is to somehow get through today, and then tomorrow and the day after that. We have 2 years and 9 months left of this. Trump is not going to be removed, he is not going to resign, and his father lived well into his 90s. If people don’t like it, oh well. The time to do something about it was Election Day 2024. Too late now. Elections have consequences. Maybe people will be a little more careful in how they vote next time.

Trump give Iran the key “cards” in this negotiation. He gave them the 60% enriched uranium by tearing up the Obama JCPOA agreement. He then gave them control of the Strait of Hormuz by failing to anticipate Iran taking control.

Another fake Republican peace talks to manipulate the markets before close. Wonder how much Trump and other republicans made on this?
