Iran tells the world we are not participating. World ignores Iran and believes Trump. Saturday after market are closed Trump “cancels” talks that were never happening.

Trump gifted Iran with the Strait of Hormuz. I mean, basic geography. Iran now explicitly controls 20 percent of the world's oil, liquified natural gas, and fertilizer. That's real power.

And there was a perfectly good deal negotiated by Obama that limited Iran's adventures with uranium.

But this is what Republicans chose. Republicans should really be asking themselves, what the the hell were you thinking? Israel is not worth all this, is it?

Iran's cards are they control the price of energy and food for most of the planet. Pretty big card.

And at least 34 Iranian tankers got through our "blockade" over the past 48 hours. That's billions in revenue for Iran.

The US navy blockade is a joke. It is not working because the US does not have enough ships and air assets to blockade Iran. Plus over 110 million barrels of Iranian oil is in tankers in Chinese waters waiting to be unloaded.

Iran has facts on the ground vs Trump’s regurgitated Israeli demands. The strait of Hormuz are in Iran’s territorial waters. There is nothing the US can do but recognize Iran is not going anywhere. The US really has no leverage at all. Iran can keep this up well or a full on war in to the 2028 elections.

High oil prices will wreck the US economy and speed of the electrification of countries economies. This is a clear defeat for the US and Israel. It is just a matter of when it is recognized.

Ships are going through. At least 26 in one 24 hr window that was monitored. Their economy was bad before the war, it’s worse now, but hungry kids and stressed parents don’t make decisions about war.

The thing about that is that Iran’s economy is not the only economy being devastated. With a double blockade, all those gulf countries are suffering. The UAE has asked the USA for a money swap/guarantee of some sought. Asian companies, such as the Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, Pakistan, India and more economies are being severely impacted. Europe’s airline industry is tanking. So it’s a global clusterfrack.

Just adding that Iran is not facing a midterm election this year so it doesn’t really matter that much if their economy is not good. The other countries facing economic upheaval have one person to blame - Trump.

Iran has been existing under sanctions for almost 50 years. They've been able to survive thus far picking at the margin and their pain threshold is exponentially higher than America's.

Iran has been economically sanctioned for decades in addition attacked by the best weapons US and Israel have during negotiations.
Few more years of economic hardship while the US empire declines is the price they will happily pay.
