I suspect Trump will want to keep the war going until he meets with Xi in May, so that he can keep inderdicting Chinese vessels on international waters, and use that as a bargaining chip.

By then oils sands and fracking in north america will mostly protect us from the global supply problems. Honestly I don't see why Trump wouldn't just keep the status quo as long as possible. [/quote]

You ignore the global impact and the direct impact on the US Economy. Trump literally has no cards other than using nukes, god forbid.

He needs to tuck tail and move his sights on to something else and let the world clean up his mess, without the US involved.[/quote]
