Missing college student in the Dominican Republic from Ashburn

If he was truly unconscious, he may have no idea what happened to her.

It’s notable that they were the only 2 seen vomiting, may be footage was short and others were also vomiting or drinks may have been spiked.

I understand. But it’s not known to 99% of people except Indians who go through. I work with lot of other country people who used to ask why I did not get my green card . There are various you tube video and memes making fun of Indians getting their green card in death bed or they apply when they are young and prime and get it when they are old and inactive . It was not the case before 2000. I wish they restrict the H1B to 7% cap too so people won’t come in hope and wait . Another thing is sometimes your employer should be willing to apply for the 1st step in green card process immediately. Some might post pone it for years which might push you further back in line.

Any further green card process discussion should be taken to a seaprate thread. You can create one if there isn't already a thread to join.

The green card sidebar is very interesting. And relevant to the thread to counter all the anti-Indian chatter.

It may have been informative. Details can continue elsewhere.

Who are YOU? We find it interesting and informative background info to Sudiksha and her family.

And wasn't it given by the thorough post? What more is there to know about that aspect of them?

Well we don’t know if there is more to know. Do YOU?

About a green card process for immigrants from one country? Do tell, what is it that you think there is more to know about??

Well don’t know what we don’t know. But apparently YOU know everything. GOod on you. Now find Sudiksha.

If you are interested in the immigration process and those details, and to know what you may not know: create a new thread in off-list forum, jobs or another forum. You can link that thread here if you discover or share info related to this young woman.

Yea, but sounds like he already told some stories of what may have happened. So maybe he does recall or he thinks he remembers.

I’m sure it was known in the area that power was out. Lots of drug dealers, would be robbers and assailants flock to prey on and sell to drunk tourists. State Dept warns of criminal element. Extra chaos was likely seen as a potential opportunity. It is specifically warned to avoid beaches at night, they are dark, deserted, and in the case of this resort, at some distance. A video of the long walk to the beach, trees and brush is linked upthread. There are also pools between the buildings and the start of the path.

He says he passed out, so he cannot have knowledge about what happened next.

Anonymous wrote:Sorry for spam posting all the trip advisor reviews for RIU, but they're very informative about the time that this young lady was there.

One review says they were sexually harassed by staff, several others say drinks were weak. Overall, all of the posts talk about how dismissive and absent the hotel staff was, and how horrific the conditions were. No cold water to drink, no running water at times, and no AC or power making it very, very hot. The party scene was chaotic with people out and about at all hours of the night with drunken chaos.

Trip Advisor is full of these one star reviews for the past two weeks. I can only imagine this young lady was exhausted and perhaps dehydrated. Maybe even heat stroke conditions, then you add on alcohol and possibly even a drink that's been tampered with. I'd be more inclined to think it's hotel staff rather than the other young man, who may have also been impaired by someone.

That hotel seems like one horrific accident waiting to happen.

Interesting and informative. No need to apologize.

Even reviews of higher end resorts contain accounts of spiked drinks and unsavory types lurking about. One married couple believed they were both drugged at the Hard Rock while with their young child. The report and security were completely uninterested.

Heartbreaking story. Can anyone point me to the post that had information on her family?
There are too many pages to look through

How can he speak to what happened after he passed out?

Avoid this resort at all costs. My daughter is there with friends as we speak and get this: They have had no power for 2 nights, and it's 100 degrees at the resort. Then, today, they had no water. During this period, they only had one restaurant open, and the wait for the buffet was 45 mins. Management and staff did nothing. I even tried to get them on a flight home a day early. That's how bad it is. We are going to be taking legal action against RIU. DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT.

This came up before maybe it was on this thread or somewhere else. people contacting Riu after returning from there to complain about the experience and management reacting they didn't know or were like whatever. You and others are talking about it. What about unreported ones. There was news of people getting sick in the DR, that didn't stop flocks and flocks of people from traveling to the resorts.

Wow what a spring break when supposed to be relaxing. Doesn't sound like it

According to Joshua, he got her out of the surf. That could be true. She may have been harmed by someone else after he passed out on a lounger. We can’t know yet. Or he’s lying and failed to rescue her from water or actively harmed her, perhaps after being rebuffed. Perhaps even without intent, there was a huge size and weight difference and both were impaired. Lots of possibilities. Hopefully her family will get answers. If Ribe is truly innocent I hope the guilty party is held accountable. I think it is unlikely she went back in surf alone in the dark after Joshua exited it, if that part is true. More information may come out.

Were those stories from AFTER he passed out? Or did he dream it?!

Thanks for your faux concern. This thread is doing fine as is. Feel free to spinoff as you wish.
