(CNN)Once she became fully vaccinated in April, Lindsey Bates wanted to get back to work. A restaurant server with more than 20 years of experience, she figured she wouldn't have trouble finding a position since hospitality workers are in high demand and she had never been unemployed before. That hasn't been the case. Though the Orlando, Florida, resident has been applying to at least five jobs every day on Indeed and Facebook Marketplace, she has yet to even be called in for an interview. |
I don’t know about KFC, but a relative works for a big name discount dept store and they have the same experience. In their case, it also keeps them from taking on a second job, which the family needs. As a result, both parents are driving Uber and Instacart or DoorDash all hours. It’s exploitation. OP here - boosting because a lot of people don't realize this is over. Adding Maryland (who due a Red Governor canceled) and Louisiana (who due a Red Super-Majority Legislature also canceled). That's 26 states. Oklahoma Idaho Missouri Iowa Alabama Arizona Montana South Carolina Arkansas Mississippi North Dakota Wyoming Tennessee South Dakota Utah New Hampshire Georgia Ohio Alaska West Virginia Indiana Nebraska Florida Texas Louisiana Maryland |

Yes, that’s how most jobs work. |
I mean the same thing happened in 2020 when they turned down federal covid relief to re-open early. I'm beginning to think they just don't care. |
