I don't go to Chinese restaurants where I've found this flavor. Blech.

I love Italian food but their pasties, not so much. If they aren’t adding anise they add orange flavoring and non mi piace!

Agree! I can't handle anise. Also I have never met something made with Almond Extract that I didn't find so overpowering and gross. I love Almonds so I am not sure why I can't deal with it. Blech.

Sooo good in sauerkraut.

Good and sauerkraut do not belong in the same thought

Maybe we aren’t the ones with a genetic defect?

Dill - hate it

I hate how sandwich places (like Jersey Mikes) add oregano to the sandwich. It's so overpowering that its all you can taste. I never get the seasoning on it. A little goes a long way in Italian dishes, so it has its place, but I like it used sparingly.

I genuinely have no idea why people like it - I intellectually understand it tastes different to me, but I have a hard time imagining it. Why would you eat soap?

I am one of the people who tastes soap when I eat cilantro but I love it. Go figure.

I am one like that too. Posted earlier in the thread. Some kind of person pointed out a genetic component. There is a link to populations that dislike it more than others.

I love cilantro. It doesn’t taste anything like soap to me.

Oregano and cumin. It’s a tie. Both are awful.

I’m not a fan of that bagel spice blend.

I dislike cumin but I LOVE Indian food. I tolerate the cumin, or it' not so bad if it's one of many flavors.

I think I used it on avocado toast once and can't think of much else to do with it. I don't hate it, but it is definitely buried at the back of my cabinet.
