Which single spice you dislike most?

I hate cumin too.. leave it out of everything. Not a huge fan of fennel or anise either.

I'm fine with almost all spices and herbs. The only one I'm not crazy about is nutmeg in savory dishes. I love it in sweets, though!

I eat fennel seeds by the handful. Such a great breath freshener! Steeping fennel with mint and ginger also makes a great herbal tea too soothe an upset tummy. But I can understand aversion to fennel, anise, and tarragon if you don't like licorice. Oddly enough, I can't stand licorice, and I'll take a hard pass on tarragon. But fennel and anise don't bother me.

Cloves i leave them out if recipe. The flavor is too strong.

Anything licorice-y. So fennel, star anise, Chinese five spice, I'm sure the list goes on. It's the only thing I can taste and ruins the dish for me.

You can come to my house for dinner. These 3 are banned.

Of the ones listed so far, I think tarragon is my least favorite, but even herbs and spices that aren't my favorite can shine in some dishes.

I used to go to a bagel place in Baltimore that put cumin seeds on their everything bagels and even though I usually like cumin I realized that cumin on bagels is wrong.

It’s not one spice, I know, but the thread of flavor that connects curries together is not my favorite.

Cumin.

And it’s not a spice, but rosewater flavored anything. Gross. Stomachache city.

Also not a huge fan of fennel / star anise / tarragon, but I can appreciate them in small doses in some applications - fennel in sausage, star anise in pho, that sort of thing.

Dill is very specific for me. Love dill pickles, chopped fresh dill in egg salad sandwiches, or fresh dill in lox/gravlax. Hate it most other places. There's very little in between.

LOVE cumin. One of my favorite spices.

Sage is my least favorite spice. I don’t think it really adds much to a dish and I don’t enjoy the flavor. If I happen to have some I will use it but I don’t go out of my way to buy sage.

I woudl hate that too, but because of the green beans. Just vile.

There's a genetic component to your dislike. For some people, they have a genetic variation that affects their taste and cilantro will taste like soap. This is why there is such a love/hate relationship with cilantro.
