My credit card is charged $500 for 2 kids the first of every month from now until June. It seems ridiculous now that there is no season/training/games. No talk of a credit towards next year either. |
Mental illness is likely the only reason a Board could rationalize these numbers. |
They sent out this email this week: APRIL 2, 2020 We hope you and your family are safe and healthy. Like you, we cannot wait to get back onto the soccer field, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this uncertain and chaotic time. All on-field Loudoun Soccer activities and programs are suspended through April 23. Despite the Governor’s recent decision to close schools, the soccer season has NOT been canceled. In the meantime, we are monitoring the situation, and following guidance from local, state and federal agencies. Please stay tuned for further updates on our social media channels and our website. We hope to provide additional information on or before Monday, April 20. |
Please stop. I do want my money back for the season, except to the extent that it pays the coaches. I do think that Tommy is overpaid. However, my elderly parents are in NYC and cannot get a slot to order food. I have just been told I am being furloughed at work. I really, really do not understand the privilege of the people who are obsessing about the ASA board and salaries right now. You people are in a very lucky situation to be able to have that on your mind. |
The problem is the money goes to a lot of different things. It isn’t like your money is sitting in a bank account. It went to pay club bills like insurance, field rentals, coaches and yes, a very small percentage went to a slush rainy day fund. The margins that clubs rake in per kid is slim. Most club money is made through tournaments and those are separate from what you paid. Does any of this mean you shouldn’t get a refund for the unused portion? No, but it also doesn’t mean it is readily available for refund either. The clubs need to get the money back from other agencies like government parks and rec as well as league insurance as well as salaries. |
Clubs typically begin collecting deposits for next year starting in May. I put a deposit down the 2nd week of May last year. So are we going to go from essentially no communication on credits or refunds in early April to getting offers and asked for deposits a month later? |
| 21 deaths in DMV area, DC peak expected for late June early July. |
I will not be putting a deposit down. This will be $500/month ($2k) March-June of literally laying for nothing....oh wait 1 or 2 zoom videos per month. |

I had only signed up for 1 summer camp before this thing broke out.
I’m not paying for camps or travel soccer for next year until I know what it looks like—and we most likely won’t know until end of summer. Like the pp, between my kids I will have paid ~$2k from March-June with nothing to show for it. I realize it’s not the Club’s fault. But, to still charge us makes me feel like we are being robbed. I know several friends that have been laid off or terminated and they are collecting unemployment. Why are we still paying for nothing and no credit towards next year? |
How are you paying March-June 2K? Do you have 4-6 kids in travel? Most clubs I know collect from June through Jan/Feb. so that the last few months of the year all payments are accounted for. |
1 payment in May. Then Sept.-June monthly. It was $6,022 for 2 kids. |
| ASK is only refunding 40% of fees. That's gross now that I know how much their ED is paid. |
Careful, they’ll start calling you mentally unstable...they stopped caring about anyone but the full time staff once that ED started. |
|
So this club is one of the few that is propoing refunds and you say their ED makes too much money. What is wrong with you people? its an obsession you have. They are supposedly refunding money and you find fault with their EDs board approved salary
