China pollution rates way down

This has been the best news!
Shows what can be done if we, as a whole, would stop consuming so much "stuff" we don't need.

Though I know there will be no mass quarantine, just think of what we can do about other global issues if we just stopped driving for a couple weeks. Like everyone. Shocking how much this was noticeable in China. I am flabbergasted.

If you don’t test you can’t have it.

I hear they don't have any coronavirus in the entire continent of Antarctica.

101 year old Chinese man from Wuhan recovers from COVID-19.

Story is in Chinese--there is a video (don't know how to post those).

He showed "them stats".

Possibly somewhere far away from the city living all his life in a clean air, eating foods grown without chemicals and pesticides for the most of his life since they were introduced in like what.. 50's? And probably took a while to get them to the price affordable another thirty..
He was probably not eating meat at all as many rural areas in China are purely vegetarian. Who knows. He beat the odds. Good for him!
I wish him another 100 years!

Yes, that is a good news except that it is the same as it was, it is deadly for some risk groups just the same and for others not so much so matter of luck. But overall now we know enough to somehow protect the most vulnerable groups and that is a good thing.

Many of the steps being taken to fight Covid-19 will also help fight deaths and infections from the regular flu. Things like avoiding large crowds, staying home at any sign of illness, more aggressive hand washing, minimizing travel, and avoiding touching one's face are all useful steps to stop any type of virus. The last part of the flu season this winter should be much less widespread than usual.

Singapore is an extremely clean country. You could be caned for accidently throwing gum wrappers on the ground.

There was some major volcanic activity some years ago that grounded most of the flights across the world for a week or so. During that period it was extremely noticeable the much better air quality being measured due to the drastic decline in carbon output. I don't recall all the information but just that little pause in flight activity almost immediately led to far cleaner air.

Frankly, rationing flights may be key to the future of environmentalism. Teleworking and video conferencing can eliminate most of work travel.

OK, I'm joining this thread. I don't have good news. But, I also am sick of people freaking out that it's spreading. And of course the government is "bungling" the response. No government is equipped to protect all of its citizens from a contagious cough/cold. What a ridiculous expectation, and i am NOT a Trump supporter. For what it's worth.

This is VERY good news. From Medical News Today. And this was written on Feb 18th:

The study also found that “A total of 1,716 health workers have become infected and 5 have died (0.3%).”

However, “The percentage of severe cases among Wuhan medical staff has gradually decreased from 38.9% at the peak (on January 28) to 12.7% in early February.”

That tells me that person-to-person spread is weakening the virus.

Definitely makes sense. Look at the virus as it's hitting the US. No mass hospitalization, not even in Washington/Seattle.
