You think schools do criminal background checks on all students 18 or older? Do you know how many white kids have possession charges at 18? |
I know it gets you expelled in our district. Also, no, school districts do not check documentation. It seems like something that has been repeated so many times, I'm surprised that PP didn't know. Maybe she just temporarily forgot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plyler_v._Doe |
Yes since it doesnt have a rural feel like other areas of VA. In the 90s gangs would be all over north and south arlington where the asian girl went with the gang. |
I'm pp and I honestly did not know that the school does not check documentation of ADULT students. If they don't do any sort of check, how do they know that the incoming student is "only" 23. How do they know that the student isn't 28? Serious question. |
Huh? Accotink Lake is a park with a lake, trees, biking/hiking trail, playgrounds, boat rentals, picnic areas. Mostly quiet suburban SFHs back to that lake. It is SUBurban - not rural countryside or urban city. Just because gang activity happened there does not mean that it is a "dangerous", rough area. It is not. That's what some of you don't seem to get. This stuff is happening everywhere and it is everyone's problem. |
DP here. They have no idea. This was a huge point of discussion when the Rockville HS rape case was being discussed. MCPS does not require documentation. Also, it is very easy to come up with fake documentation in these countries. So even having actual documentation does not mean the kid/man is the actual age he said. Many of these men/boys coming into the country illegally already know how to work the system to their advantage. Instead of being forced to go out and get a job, they know they can enroll in the schools, get 2 free meals, learn English for free and have access to younger students in case they are involved in a gang (access to more potential members). |

win win for them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwR0GyAem9c |
And I assume that these 21+ adults are allowed to buy and consume alcohol. So much for the rationale of raising the drinking age to 21 to keep alcohol out of the hands of HS kids....these old HS students are allowed to buy/consume alcohol. |
Generally, these adult HS students are in a different building, not in the same classes with children who are the usual age. |
How many high schools have complete separate buildings for these adults? If an undocumented 28 year old could lie and say he's 23. What is to stop an undocumented 23 year old from lying and saying he's 18? |
| 18 year old HS "kid" by day. 23 year old bar hopper by night. |

Can you all take this inane debate to another thread?
While you all were debating about illegals, someone set fire to Nabra's memorial in Dupont Circle. http://www.fox5dc.com/news/local-news/262878455-story |
O.k. - that is horrible but it is also a separate incident from the crime that we are talking about. I hope that they catch and prosecute the POS who disrespected her memorial like that. |
It's more on topic than the PPs debating about the MoCo rape. And why can't you idiots delete the previous quotes in your replies? So much damn scrolling! |
