Is VDA the best club to get recruited from?

To be fair, a couple of those girls committed prior to playing a minute with VDA. That said, VDA still does a great job with getting girls recruited.

If you are referencing the 11's, you're correct. Toxic af!!!

+1.

Seems like U13-U15 mixed together, with multiple “superteams” 😂
they all had unserious ids with BP recruiting behind the scenes.
Older teams targetted players from arl. Younger teams arl and fvu.

Ouch at the overlooked talent.

And yes on paper these teams will be maxed out as far as exposure and talent is concerned. Or at least thats the idea.

I heard Arlington was targeting some Vda players? Did any end up leaving for Arlington?

VDA does a great job at recruiting girls to their club who are likely to be college players. They do this by offering players at other clubs to join VDA at almost no cost. That’s why their teams have roster sizes in the mid 20s, it’s the marginal players paying all the fees. From VDA’s perspective the free soccer is like a marketing expense to draw paying customers in using their commit marketing.

A lot of players think they want to play college soccer until they become realistic about where they can play and what the life of a college athlete s like (hint: it is not that of a normal college student even at the D3 level).
If the kid wants to play, then the player needs to contact the coach.
The player needs to know the grades he or she needs, and be able to achieve them.
The player needs to turn up to camps and ID clinics, and needs to share thoughtful expressions of interest with the coach in addition to providing a game schedule.
The kid needs follow up and thank a coach for coming to watch a game.
The player should also be sure the club coach (at any club) is aware of his or her interest in playing in college and if a coach is coming to watch, that fact needs to be shared with the coach so he can help by giving the kid plenty of time to show their skills and knowledge of the game in front of the coach.
The parent needs to prepare to have the player do all of this, and needs to be quiet and supportive on the sidelines and not a crazy person. The parent needs to let the kid relax before a game where someone will be watching too, not providing an hour of commentary about 'the importance of this game' on the way to the field.

Rational advice. Not something that is often seen on these boards. Yeah, I was surprised in going through this with my DD, it is really up to them to control the process. We lucked out and had both coaches that were supportive and club directors as well. It made a big difference in the overall process. But, there was a ton of legwork done by my DD - cutting clips, sending emails and follow-ups, etc. And, yeah, as a parent, I was not shocked that coaches were also interested in the players parents as well - meaning are they wackos on the sideline that are constantly yelling and joy sticking their child or can they sit back and just let things happen. Good luck to all that are either in the middle or about to start this process.

Nobody gets free dues at VDA. If you believe that you are delusional.
