Is VDA the best club to get recruited from?

Anonymous
On the girls side, VDA seems to have created a positively reinforced cycle for college recruiting and strengthening of their club. They recruit hard for the best players (starting at u15) and then market their commitments to the next batch of players they want to recruit.

It is clear they are a more organized club compared to their competitors and they are especially good at marketing and communications.

Will VDA continue down this path to market domination or can the other clubs change the narrative by keeping their stronger players/teams together while improving their operations? Can players get recruited from other clubs as well as they would have been from VDA? Is it mostly just recruiting top players and marketing or does VDA have more substance than that?

I don’t like the forming of these super teams (feels a little like the NBA LeBron era), but I respect that VDA is pushing the other clubs to up their games. I think we all will benefit from that.

I could care less since my kid is years away but I enjoy watching you all bicker.

BUT, they’re not creating a super team to win locally…. They’re creating a competitive team for who they compete against which is other stacked teams nationally and regionally.

Is this Propaganda Friday?

Yes VDA marketing, you are just the best at everything.

VDA got a big boost in players, coaching, recruits, social media, etc. when SJFCV imploded a few years ago, and they are taking full advantage of it. Can they sustain it? TBD.

If coaches and leadership stays in place of course they can sustain it. VDA was a strong club before, BP made it even better with his strategies he brought from FCV. The formula just works.

Based on their IG story last night and this post, it’s pretty clear Bobby and his staff absolutely love hanging out on these forums. Honestly, it’s impressive how much time they spend online instead of, you know… developing the players they already have at PWsi and VSA. But hey, why focus on your own teams when you can desperately chase kids from other clubs instead? And of course, the players in their two clubs barely get a look for VDA—because that would make too much sense. Total joke.

This is some high level marketing going on here. I see you BP

There’s sure to be some level of resentment from the home clubs with this type of strategy but the recent results are undeniable when compared to their competitors. Their current commitments look almost like what Union did until recently. Not as deep but that might be due to the academics being very different for their homegrown players. Woodbridge and McLean are very different places.

You can even see the same writing style in these posts from the VDA staff, not fooled but can see you are counting on “a sucker born every minute” to steal a quote

Hmm....the VDA hype machine continues to roll along.

There certainly is a ton of marketing from VDA and BP in particular regarding their club and players. They do a really solid job of it, but I think a lot of it is cyclical as well.

This 2009 year is really strong, IMO, overall. Players bounced from several different clubs and ended up at VDA, but I believe that those players would be in the same place if they stayed with their original clubs as well.

Chicken or egg, player or club? There are other Mid-Atlantic clubs that have had really solid commitments for this 2009 year as well, but I will give you that VDA has led that pack.

Is it the best place? IDK, but I don't think it hurts.

I will be honest, look at 2009 team, almost if not ALL are going D1 (21 of them), please tell me the commits from FVU, ARL, NVA etc for that same age group, I HAVE not seen them. Maybe they weren't posted and thats why.
