Wow. I hope FCPS is proud of itself. What utter, incompetent, idiots.
Yes, "reasonable accommodations" means the kid who doesn't want to share the locker room with the trans kid can go find another place to change.
Trans kid gets to stay according to current FCPS policy.
Sorry, no. The will of the few does not supersede the will of the majority.
excuse me? The will of the few? What makes you think that most parents agree with the Trump administration for doing this?
DP. Common sense.
All the ridiculous posts on this thread defending what Trump is doing is hardly a reflection of what the majority of fcps parents think. Wishful thinking on your part. And if you are talking about common sense, Trump is targeting trans now. Who is next? You think it stops with demonizing trans?
I disagree with you entirely and I am the parent of 2 FCPS students.
I don’t like trump but his administration is right on this issue. Protect our daughters!
Again, what some are expressing on this thread should not be assumed represents the majority of parents in FCPS.
But it is. Even if they are afraid to speak up for fear of being canceled at the pool and even if they live in the cheap apartments.
While I have not seen polling specifically for Fairfax County, it is an 80-20 issue and I doubt Fairfax County is much different.
People can be compassionate about trans kids, but when their own child is
confronted in a restroom, locker room, or sports, the results may be different.
