Only time I've heard "let them die" at a School Board protest was from a left wing group.

Less than 25% of registered voters in Fairfax County vote in school board elections. Unfortunately, the majority of that fraction of registered voters consistently makes bad choices.

Hopefully, the recent actions of the SB and Reid will raise interest in school board elections in the future and wider choices will be made.

I would wild guess that 25-30% of the adult population has one or more children in FCPS, so I wouldn’t expect a super high turnout for a school board election. It would help if they were elected at the same time as the state or federal elections.

i have not heard that, but the few extremely heated school board meetings I have attended were heated due to right wing groups (mostly from upside the county).
