Very well put. Thanks for adding to the explanation as to why Dunn Loring is such a terrible idea and a waste of money, yet Karl pushed it through. |
But trailers are a big deal. My youngest was put in a trailer - or, should I clarify: a temporary trailer - at Kent Gardens. His teacher explained to me that same trailer had been in place and in use at Kent Gardens for 7 years. SEVEN YEARS. The teacher eventually saw a specialist for respiratory problems. Turns out her trailer had a massive black mold infestation in all the walls and ceiling. And the teacher was pregnant at the time the black mold was discovered. Karl Frisch has diverted money which could have ameliorated this problem, and so many others. But he does not care about the well-being of FCPS students; only his own political ambitions. |
The number of trailers has gone down in Providence schools under Frisch. |
He has nothing to do with that. Nothing. But he has everything to do with allocating $60M that could have been used to get kids out of cheap trailers and modulars to a new elementary school in Dunn Loring that is not needed. That was completely his idea; it is a terrible idea; and a bunch of brain-dead Ds on the SB went along with it even though they knew or should have known it was a terrible idea because they were burnt out from dealing with Covid issues and/or equally stupid. The guy is a pathological BS artist, and he’s enabled by other Ds who dare not criticize him lest they get called anti-LBGTQ. |
+1. The new school will reduce reliance on trailers even further. My kid spent entire 6th grade in trailers at Shrevewood, that’s not a good place to learn. |
All that needed to have happened, and what could have happened by now, was to move some Shrevewood kids to Stenwood and some Stenwood kids to Freedom Hill. Now you will wait many more for years for a school that isn’t needed, and which when opened will do a number on Stenwood and Freedom Hill. Meanwhile more serious overcrowding elsewhere affecting kids in Providence will get ignored. |

Almost half of his donations come from outside VA - with CA being one of his top states. Unreal.

I don’t care. At least he didn’t raise money by selling an assault rifle? |
| And the guy who belonged to the group that auctioned the gun didn’t waste $60M in taxpayer money like Frisch on a school that serves no real purpose other than to save a dog park. |
It will when the uneeded elementary school in a location with very few kids surrounded by under enrolled elementary schools opens. |
You don't care that a local VA candidate has half his donations coming from outside VA? Of course you don't. You'd only care if he was a Republican. How typical. |
How exactly? |
|
Two things:
1. Karl—stop self-promoting on here by attempting yo defend yourself on every point raised…and just go to bed. 2. Please please please do not let this man win another term. It’s time to move on and elect someone who cares about the issues that have a positive impact on education than on his own political aspirations. (Just one person’s opinion but we can do better.) |
NP. Honest question, I don't know much about this story but it seems to raise high emotions... what was the reason for not building a school at Blake Lane? If not the dog park? |
I do believe that in 2023, the latter is muuuuuch more socially acceptable. |
