Removal of Eaton Principal Steven Eskay

Admittedly, all hearsay but, he DID berate the ELL teachers.
From what I understand he downplayed the importance of ELL instruction and said something like "anyone can do your job"

The Instructional Superintendent who was his supervisor, on whose watch perhaps dozens of complaints were lodged, on whose watch Eskay appears to have been provided confidential information about people filing complaints...is going to lead the investigation? Ladies and gentleman, I present to you DCPS.

At DCPS everyone has to go. The mayor needs to know and she has to do something now.
Our children who are suffering the consequences!

The mayor knows. She is at the heart of this system.

The words "perhaps" and "appears" jump out at me. So do you know or do you not know? Is there evidence of "dozens of complaints"? If so was it before or after the teachers went public? If the evidence is before their letter that indicates a cover up and the Washington Post would love to hear from you. You are free to list it here, too. There is this thing called FOIA so it will be verified. But if you're merely speculating go away.

Also, the Instructional Superintendents do not lead investigations and are investigated, too.

+1

I swear IS are the slimiest people in DCPS. There are so many who have shady pasta at other districts or DCPS.

She knows. She hires the chancellor and sets the tone from the top.

As someone who had the misfortune of having to work with Eskay at one of his previous DCPS schools, I can assure you that the descriptions of his behavior are entirely believable. It is astounding that Central Office hired him in the first place. A quick call to any teachers or leaders he has worked with would have (should have?) raised ALL the red flags.

Do you work for Central? Only a Central stooge would respond this way. The complaint and documentation say in plain language that multiple teachers filed complaints. The original documentation from signees alleged he made open reference to having an inside source providing him information. In no universe (other than DCPS) would the supervisor be allowed to participate in the investigation. They would not even have been authorized to speak to the WaPo. Yet the WaPo article shows that the IS will be involved in the investigation and she spoke .

I know you think you are "helping" Central look less incompetent, but you (like your brethren) reinforce an image of pervasive incompetence and dirty inside baseball every time you open your mouths.

To answer your question, no, I do not work for Central. And do you really think a Central employee would encourage you to go to the Washington Post with additional evidence so they can verify it through FOIA? I think Eskay or anyone that may have covered for him is deplorable but what has been shared, in my opinion, may not be enough to let him or them go. You conveniently referred back to the original document but again I believe more is needed. That is what triggers me. If you have something else or can point them towards where to look, hop to it.

Central has more than enough to move him from upper Northwest to somewhere lower Northwest or EAST of the river where DCPS has knowingly, systematically failed generations. This was a study in how far can a JD take you without actually passing a bar. The courses were taken, but the knowledge of how to conduct yourself in an ethical and unimpeachable way never sunk in.
He is dangerous and should not be allowed near any children who are not genetically his own.

Wow! Thank God the staff were united, and knew that if he mistreated half, it could be them the next day. Who did he think he was?

Who will replace Eskay is an intriguing question. One thing is for sure is that DCPS is lacking great candidates to lead schools and run them successfully. Good luck to the new principal.
