I guess, but someone found this one and reported it to officials. If you find another example, let someone know.

whataboutism.... not the issue at hand. pg pool members love to deflect from any criticism... on being a racist pool or not paying your taxes

There is no evidence that, today, the PG Pool is racist. None. Have you checked into the other pools in PGC?

If your private pool excluded black people for decades, it’s racist. PG Pool is one of these pools.

Also, pay your taxes.

It's pretty clear that any time this pool comes up in this section of the board, there's someone who is obsessed with yelling the word "racist" over and over again with no actual content.

So please, my fellow rational people of DCUM:
please stop feeding the troll. There is nothing good that comes out of goading this person who does not have anything constructive to say.

It's clear that there are plenty of people who want to be part of the PG Pool, given the waiting list. Let people figure out on their own what the pool is about. Don't respond to the childish name calling this poster hurls.

I'm a new poster who isn't associated with this pool. I agree that some posters are likely trolling, but posters (who appear to be pool members, re: above post) seem to be deflecting from serious concerns. The tax issue isn't "childish" or "name calling," and the racial history of this pool can't be waived away since this pool is located in Prince George's County. I'm a bit surprised by some of the (assumed) pool member responses - they seem arrogant and dismissive. I could be wrong, but I doubt all of these posts are trolls.

If we built a higher wall, then maybe the locals wouldn’t be able to see what they can’t be part of 😂

Then, presumably, you found the US to be nothing more than a racist country. I believe it is more than that. You do not. Then, leave!

Yes, let’s not forget that MD was a slave state, boasting both Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman, so why would anyone want to live here, ever?

As a member of the PG Pool, I am appalled by some of these responses.

Sure you are . Funny how there are so many “new posters” with seemingly no interest in PG pool, commenting on a thread about the pool…

PG county in general was pretty racist back then. But that didn’t stop African Americans from moving to the county. Unfortunately you’re really limiting yourself if you avoid every area or institution that had racism practices, that’s a pretty hard way to live.

What is this weird pool and why are people so defensive about it?

I think others started to do that bc the pg pool members kept accusing legit critics of being a single troll to deflect.

You all seem to think that white owned businesses were given some sort of discount on property taxes because of racism. That’s not what racism looked like back then. White people had all of the money. If they didn’t tax businesses because they were owned by whites then there wouldn’t have been a tax base.
