Taylor Swift tickets

Anonymous
I paid $200/seat for 100 level seats last night in Philly for each of my 2 daughters. I went out to dinner during the show and came back and picked them up. I would have loved to see the show but in the madness of the pre-show I only got 2 seats.

I got nosebleeds during the presale and they weren’t that much. I think I paid less than $200 per ticket. The expensive part was the hotel, the absurd food prices at Lincoln field and the merch. For us it was a once in a lifetime experience.

+1. I got tickets from a friend of a friend for face value, not everyone is paying outrageous amounts.

This is what I am doing too. Friends (a group of siblings) of a friend got two presale codes and secure to buy twelve tickets between them. I am just very lucky to have a friend who knew how badly I wanted to go and secured one of the tickets for me. My flight and hotel were all on points (I live in Canada and she hasn't announced any Canadian shows, and it's unclear if she were - past tour the Canadian dates were mixed in between the US dates, and I am not sure if we have big enough stadiums (no NFL teams, so we only have baseball and hockey stadiums with a smaller capacity).

Sorry you gotta be so mean, but I'm still in the Afterglow from last night's concert. It was the best day.

Oh, I know it. All too well. 🫶

This the best I've seen so far, but it's not complete: https://twitter.com/UpdatingSwiftly/status/1657946211918258177?s=20

I love that song but I was a little worried she'd play it at the show I saw, because it always makes me sob. A nice choice for Mother's Day though!

Thank you! I am sobbing and actually very glad we weren’t at this show, I’m not sure how I would have recovered!! Looking forward to Pittsburgh!!

How are the prices looking for Pittsburgh?

Terrible just like Philly. $1200 for restricted view behind the stage.

The smugness of people who got face-value tickets is vomit-inducing. I had a pre-sale code too. I sat in the queue for 8 hours too. So did a lot of people. Its not like we didn't try or jump through the hoops. And our kids are just as heart-broken. I'm so over the smugness that we somehow didn't try as hard as those who got tickets.

NP here, but I sympathize with the PP. My DD is just heartbroken. She has tremendous perspective on life, having suffered a few pretty major hardships, so it's not like she doesn't get it. But still, she feels that Taylor is an incredibly important part of her life, much of that having to do with some of the things she endures and understanding how important music, including Taylor's, is to her. It's gotten to the point where I can't even listen to the music without getting so mad. How Ticketmaster allowed milions of bots to buy up those tickets and then not just suspend the resale of them is beyond me. This price gouging could have been dealt with. People are just awful.

I do not know how the bots cannot be defeated. Makes me feel like TM doesn't want to fight them. TM gets rich too -- on fees of every resale. $$$$$
But weren't there literal congressional hearings regarding Taylor's resale?

Mine, too. Hours and hours - including the site kicking her back out into the queue when she had floor seats in her shopping cart. Even I cried that day, and I’m not a Swiftie. She was devastated.

I get it. It's super disappointing and you can't escape seeing it all over the place all the time. I am a huge swiftie and have managed to get tickets for past shows by doing the work (signing up for pre-sale, queing on ticketmaster etc) and I didn't even get a pre-sale code this this, so was completely shut out. I somehow got tickets through the friend of a friend (three weeks before my show) so I hope somehow it happens for your daughter. If you have a pre-sale code there are last minute ticket drops before the shows. There is also a twitter account that only allows resales at face value @ErasTourResell - I messaged everyone selling tickets to a show i can make it to and wasn't successful, but there are success stories.

Why don’t those disappointed about not having tickets plan to get a group together and do a parking lot tailgate? I was originally planning to drive to Pittsburgh and get very last minute tickets. After Philly, I realize even last minute tix (reasonably priced) are unlikely. But I keep seeing the parking lot Swifties. So new plan is to drive to Pittsburgh with DD and a couple friends and meeting some cousins in Pittsburgh and having a TS tailgate event. The girls are excited. This is the best we can do right now.

Agreed! I did get Pittsburgh tickets on Stubhub after christmas but this would be my plan if we didn’t. The tay-legate parties sound fun and it is a way to make the best of the situation. Ticketmaster has been dropping face value tickets, no code needed, starting on the Tuesday before the shows. There’s still a chance for you to be The Lucky One.

Sorry you are sad, but this feels a bit over the top. People in other countries love Taylor Swift, but she's never going to go there, so they enjoy her music from afar.

Use the money you saved by not getting tickets to enjoy her music other ways. Spend it all on merch. Or discover other acts to follow, because many of them are just as good but just haven't received the same hype.

This thread is crack. Omg. So much drama. I can’t imagine getting that hysterical over a concert (or not being able to go).

Perspective.

Such entitlement. I’m silently giggling to what my parents would have said as a girl if I was throwing a tantrum and distraught over them not shelling out hundreds of dollars for a concert or whining endlessly.

People today. Sigh
