Taylor Swift tickets

Terrible just like Philly. $1200 for restricted view behind the stage.

The smugness of people who got face-value tickets is vomit-inducing. I had a pre-sale code too. I sat in the queue for 8 hours too. So did a lot of people. Its not like we didn't try or jump through the hoops. And our kids are just as heart-broken. I'm so over the smugness that we somehow didn't try as hard as those who got tickets.

Mine, too. Hours and hours - including the site kicking her back out into the queue when she had floor seats in her shopping cart. Even I cried that day, and I’m not a Swiftie. She was devastated.

Sorry you are sad, but this feels a bit over the top. People in other countries love Taylor Swift, but she's never going to go there, so they enjoy her music from afar.

Use the money you saved by not getting tickets to enjoy her music other ways. Spend it all on merch. Or discover other acts to follow, because many of them are just as good but just haven't received the same hype.

But those people’s close friends and family aren’t blasting their own attendance all over social media. DD’s friends who are going are showing no restraint or tact at all. Just talking about it constantly before and after. It’s pretty insensitive. At least it’s a life lesson to DD to be more mindful of others feelings.

OK, so this is more of a FOMO situation.

Use it as a teaching moment about how social media manipulates young people and about how the music promotions industrial complex manipulates fans to maximize profits.

Use it as an opportunity to teach your daughter to develop her own tastes and discover new music.

It's a concert, where fans are squashed into a stadium with poor sound quality to watch a mega millionaire in the far distance make more mega millions off them.

No it’s not insensitive. They are excited and want to share their excitement. Teach your daughter to be happy for her friends that they get to experience something. Next time it might her turn.

The “what is acceptable to post on social medial” is getting ridiculous. Someone will always have more opportunities than you. Someone will get into the college you wanted, fly in a better class than you, go to a show you wanted, etc.

Perspective.

Such entitlement. I’m silently giggling to what my parents would have said as a girl if I was throwing a tantrum and distraught over them not shelling out hundreds of dollars for a concert or whining endlessly.

People today. Sigh

Yes, people today. Those whose parents taught them that life basically sucks, get over it, and hate those who wish to enjoy it. I find people like you, who were raised that way, tend to really lack the ability for empathy. If you're a parent, you should break that cycle. Life is to be lived and enjoyed and to do what you can to help others.

Sorry if this has been answered but why is Ticketmaster dropping tickets close to the show? I thought everything was already sold out.

Don’t get too excited. It is circulating online but I’ve not read many reports of people actually being successful. And those parking lot tailgates are downright depressing. That would just make me feel worse. A lot of the people selling crazy expensive seats are just letting them go to waste too. My SIL said a seat next to her stayed empty and she saw a good amount of other empty single seats too.

We are waiting for Ticketmaster to answer that question…

I know someone who got a $249 last minute drop ticket.

I was originally planning to drive to Pittsburgh and get very last minute tickets. After Philly, I realize even last minute tix (reasonably priced) are unlikely. But I keep seeing the parking lot Swifties. So new plan is to drive to Pittsburgh with DD and a couple friends and meeting some cousins in Pittsburgh and having a TS tailgate event. The girls are excited. This is the best we can do right now.

Agreed! I did get Pittsburgh tickets on Stubhub after christmas but this would be my plan if we didn’t. The tay-legate parties sound fun and it is a way to make the best of the situation. Ticketmaster has been dropping face value tickets, no code needed, starting on the Tuesday before the shows. There’s still a chance for you to be The Lucky One.

See you in the ‘burg yinzers! Tay-gate!

Ugh I can’t manage a proper gift link but WaPo just did a bit on the fun atmosphere at the Philly parking lot. Lots of TS love.

It's all about the other girls at school. Look at me dressed up as a Swiftie, look at me and my excess.

In our wealthy neighborhood, it's about the moms too. So freaky. They are on the party bus with the daughters. To a lesser extent with Harry Styles too, but this TS crap is crazy.

Don't flame, but it's stuff like this that makes me so relieved I have all boys.

We had tickets for the Philly show but saw all the people outside (we left during the last song) -- they seemed to be having a ball singing and dancing. The music outside was just as loud as inside (and almost better because inside we wore ear plugs). I just read that NJ and Boston weren't allowing tailgating though...could be wrong but if so that's too bad.

She doesn’t even have social media. She has one “friend” that I can’t stand that wouldn’t shut up during the lead up to the concert and now won’t shut up about her post concert “depression” because it was awesome and it’s over. Some friend.
