Odd visit from DS GF dad

Anonymous
I can only say from the perspective of the parent of a girl who frequently hangs out at her boyfriends house, and now thinks his parents are much cooler than her own and listens less and less to us, I would recommend keeping your comments about her parents to yourself, divorced or not. You may forget the power you have over young people, and this young woman is not your daughter. Maybe next time say nothing and let her figure it out with her own mother. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah me too.

Same.

I can't stand parents who try to swoop in to take the place of actual parents, like, your dad sounds controlling but there there, you're welcome here at our cool house. Get your own life, OP. This Dad is doing his job.

I started college at 16 on the opposite coast, a week before my 17th birthday.

It is for a caring parent who has been frozen out.

Found the MRA troll.

Whoa. This probably ought to be raised in a separate thread, but you track your teen’s’ whereabouts all the time?

Not those posters but yes, I do and they track me as well. If they don't want a tracker, they can pay for their own phone as its for my needs, not theirs.

No one I know does this. Not a single parent.

And…?

Defensive much. Not all parents are good parents.

It’s relevant, because 16 year olds aren’t toddlers.

Wow, amazing! You must be an overachiever! I bet you weren’t spending spending your junior year of high school at your boyfriend’s house playing video games and watching movies several nights per week until 10

I was indeed! And if I were watching movies until 10pm on weekdays, my parents wouldn’t have known, because I was practically an adult at that age.
