I live in a blue city with a lot of violent crime. My kids take public transportation to school and have to ride the subway with junkies and crazy people. The public schools suck and standards are being lowered. Crime is out of control.

I think most people in the democratic party are out of touch with normal working people. They also have their heads in the sand in regards to many issues. They just seem to pander to the far left.

Because the far left will cancel you if you step out of line.

What does that mean exactly? How does getting cancelled work? Who gets to do this? Is there some sort of “far left” adjudication system that addresses these sort of things? Are there examples of people who stepped out of line and got cancelled? I’m interested in understanding this.

Jk Rowling, for starters.

This is a terrible example. First of all, she's not American. Second of all, if she were we have no idea how she'd vote. Third of all, she's doing just fine. She says deliberately incendiary things on Twitter nonstop - and I think that's about all she does as far as activism goes - and is still a multi-billionaire who does what she likes.

The point is that some people decide they want to throw grenades on Twitter, and then they enjoy what happens when they do it - and some people would prefer not to get involved with that, and so they don't. It's really not a big deal either way.

J k Rowling is a perfect example of the far-left cancelling liberals who do not agree with trans women taking over women spaces. Rowlings supported many liberal issues including LGB rights to equity. As soon as she stepped out of line and disagreed with Trans communities she was labeled a TERF and became a pariah to the far right. She has received death threats and doxxed from liberals. Her name had been removed from some of her works and resold. She was disinvited from the 20th anniversary of HP by the studio so ad not to offend. Hell, Warner Brothers made billions from HP series and then shuns the creator of the works because she doesn’t fall in line with the far-left.

Why wouod dems need to consider voting for a republican in 2024 when the dems have demonstrated what responsible stewaardship of the White House can yield?

Have had the best rebound in history after what Trump left, including the best of any of the G7 industrialized nations. We have had 2 years of record job growth and unemployment, we have manufacturing jobs coming back to the US and inflation now in check.

We have had consequnetial legislation that is setting the US up to be a 21st century leader in the green economy and the exterted leadership against Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, bringing the countries of the world together.

Biden got Mexico to spend over a billion dollars on boarder security and has redployed assets into drones and other tools to combat against illegal immigration.

What is missing is just a handful of republicans in the House and Senate to pass meaningful immigration reform that would also help fund the courts/judicial necessary to deal with the backlog of cases.

Seriously, why do we need to contemplate a republican in 2024?

Because, as per usual, the Dems are the only party forced to compromise
