Just to be clear, you’re trying to pretend that you think that black face and drag come from the same wellspring of hatred? |
Couldn't agree more, and that's why dollars need to follow students. Let's give vouchers so ALL parents can Choose among ALL schools. Since schools don't indoctrinate, only a far right loony would oppose such an obvious policy. |
No. I'm just asking if it is the feelings of the performer that matter or the feelings of the audience. Because if of the performer, than a big Michael Jackson fan imitating him in blackface is fine. (and yes, I think the audience of drag hate women. the performers, no. the audience, yes. (although obviously not you in particular. the other audience members excepting your friends)) |
Your claim is that gender ideology is not being implemented in schools? https://www.virginiamercury.com/2022/09/12/despite-law-few-virginia-school-districts-adopt-state-model-transgender-policies/ https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-national-school-psychologist-part-of-group-offering-to-pay-rehome-gay-kids-to-new-parents https://womensdeclarationusa.com/gender-identity-indoctrination-in-our-schools/summary-report-on-gender-identity-indoctrination-in-the-schools/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email |
I am not particularly interested in public dollars going to subsidize home schools and jesus factories, thank you. |
Or madrasahs or Jewish schools or any type of religious school! No thanks! We need to have a common basis for reality and public school is that basis. |
Schools may not but churches and religious institutions do. I will never agree to public money to fund religious education. |
Or just use taxes to fund schools appropriately???? And let's also keep in mind that if all schools are voucher-based then your nice house with great 9 and 10 school ratings isn't going to be as highly desirable. |
What is the point of religious schools other than indoctination? The mission statement is to turn out adherents to the faith. It's not like they say "wow, 24% of the graduating class is well adjusted existentialists , 6% chose Buddhism, 35% are agnostic but actively seeking..." But back to transgender, none of my kids comes back from public school with the idea that they should actively think about transitioning. Nobody is forcing them to believe in the causes of transgenderism, what God thinks about transgenderism. There is no survey course for kids to pick out their gender identity. They are not indoctrinated. They are not taught anything other than that some of their classmates are transgender, and they should be treated with the same respect given to other kids in school. The right has contorted the notion of indoctrination in such a way that mere coexistence with a transgender child is explicit endorsement of that decision. So if you don't ostracize the transgender child, you are doing the work of the enemy. |
How old are your kids? No one cares about the individual child in that regard. We do worry when there are large swaths of youth (well above statistical norm) declaring themselves the opposite sex. It's not hard to be compassionate towards the kids. The problem is there are adults all to ready to help them in their journey. These same adults who tell us the brain isn't fully developed till mid-twenties. There is more than just a simple 'be kind' message going on. |
The religious right has made it political. They want to decide what other people's children can do or not do. They want to ban transgender girls from wearing skirts or dresses and being called by a feminine name and using she/her pronouns and for trans boys to have a hair cut (ie: social transition). There are roughly 75,000,000 kids in the US. According to statistics I found, there have been 4700 children on blockers in the US in the last FIVE YEARS. 4700/15,000,000 = .00006% of kids are on blockers in the last five years. There have been 15,000 kids on HRT in the US in the last FIVE YEARS (I would assume some of the 4700 previously on blockers eventually made it into this number). 15000/75000000 = .0002% of children in the US. These numbers are so vanishingly small yet Republicans have decided that THIS is the new social issue to get people fired up over to replace abortion for the religious right. Can you imagine having so little to run on that you have to try to ban 1,000 kids a year in the entire country from getting on blockers? This is your issue? Then making a law that bans social transition as well as medical transition? They're just cruel. Being transgender is already hard enough. There are more conservative adults talking about trans kids than the total number of trans kids on blockers. |
the first number was supposed to be 4700/75,000,000 obviously a typo. also numbers https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-transyouth-data/ |
There are not large swaths of youth declaring themselves the opposite gender. Relax. |
Your problem is largely the "news" sources you quote. Got any links from actual schools with the curriculum that you are opposed to? Second, what does it mean to "implement" an ideology? Again, I don't think the links you posted prove your original post. |
