Harry is going but doesn’t need to make that promise to Charles. And Harry should be there it is is grandma.

I think the Royals are there to ensure Charles doesn’t put a pillow over her before her time. He’s been dying to be king for a long time.

How did this work when Elizabeth's father died and she became queen while she was traveling in Kenya? Is it really a requirement to have the direct relatives pledge loyalty immediately?

She probably died hours ago.
