They did walk over border, then to evade processing time for in the truck to their desired next destination. Truck was never checked thereafter and broke down. Better luck next time.

Liar. The truck passed through a border patrol checkpoint north of Laredo earlier in the day before it was found. https://www.wmtw.com/article/dozens-found-dead-in-back-tractor-trailer/40438710#

And wasn’t randomly checked. If it had been opened up, game over.

They don’t open up all cargo vans and trucks. That would take too long— remember?

It just emboldens illegal aliens to keep coming and keep taking risks that end up killing people. Shame on Biden and the Democrats for failing to understand the basic concept of moral hazard.

This, exactly. It is horrendous. And, a dereliction of duty.
Wonder if we will see AOC complaining about the cruelty. /s

The death count for this single incident is now 53 - and it includes teenagers. Horrible.

Yes, why hasn't AOC showed up, dressed all in white (signature red lipstick, natch), to fake cry at the site of this tragedy? Where is she?

As long as politicians make it sound like the US supports and welcomes undocumented immigrants, this will continue. Read this article about the family from India who died trying to walk across the Canadian border in January 2022.

This quote comes directly from the article:
“And there were perhaps idealised views of life abroad. "There are many people earlier as well who had gone to US without proper documentation, and many of them are doing well," said another.”

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-60290955.amp

These deaths are senseless and tragic. The family had a comfortable life in India, but had ideas that they could easily come and be successful in the IS as undocumented immigrants. This has to end.

+2 million.

2 million known illegal immigrants a year

Abbott is so f’ing incompetent.

And I bet you were b-tching when Abbott insisted on checking all the trucks at the border, amirite? Had this truck been checked, these people will still be alive.

Duh.

It wasn’t kidnapping and trafficking Mom, dad, young kids and cousins. It was go to America and make money- unskilled labor wage arbitrage.
And kids get free stuff at school.

Sure. Because all the super ‘progressive’ liberal moms I know who live in Potomac and McLean aren’t hiring contractors and housekeepers who are undocumented, right? All while they brag about ‘No Human Is Illegal’.

Plenty of Democrat business owners who want this flow of cheap labor to continue.

I always laugh when they trot out the lie that only Republicans are employing illegal immigrants. Nope, nice gaslighting though!

I completely agree. He made big publicity about pulling Texas Rangers and assigning them to the border and they let this happen. He assumed the responsibility so it rests on him.

Nice try.
The border is unfortunately under control of the federal government. This is on Biden and his totally inept administration.
The Texas Rangers can only be assigned to areas of the border that are under state or local control. This fake tractor trailer came through at a border crossing, which is under federal control.

Since Biden has proven incapable of securing the border, Governor Abbott is implementing new truck check points. He shouldn't have to do this... because, again, it is the role of the federal government.

Amazing what Abbott has had to deal with as Governor of Texas. It's almost as if... there is no president on duty.

Abbott and the bozos…I mean Texas Ranger did not stop one truck load of illegals last time. Not much chance of doing this time. They are all on the take down that way including the governor.

We asked you yesterday to provide proof of your claim. You failed to provide a citation or proof.
In essence.... you are FOS.

Considering reporting that poster for continuing to throw out complete lies.

The cartels run our borders under the Biden presidency.

We will only see more incidents like this unless and until Biden decides that his border policies are a liability for him and the Democratic party.
Because that is what it will take. I am convinced that his policies are intentional and that he wants more illegal immigration. But, if he sees it as a liability, he MAY change course.

There have been more incidents like this an I agree that there will be more. The media chooses not to put too much emphasis on them, however. And the public seems to tolerate these types of stories.

I am in a super liberal area. Honestly, unchecked illegal immigration affects my life and my family’s life on a daily basis. As is the case for most of my neighbors. Doesn’t matter though, they all rabidly support the Democrats and rabidly support policies that promote undocumented immigrants. Not quite sure of the logic, but I don’t see Biden or the Democrats changing course with respect to this issue.

DP. I would frankly love to see a DeSantis presidency - or someone similar. No way would he put up with this nonsense at the border.

Bigger question is why aren't Cruz, Cornyn, and all of the Texas Republicans crying over this tragedy and clear sign of their own failings on any kind of coherent policy to make the border safer?

And before you say "build the wall" remember that Texas itself is home to the largest population of illegals in the entire country. They staff every construction site, every restaurant, every maintenance crew, every cleaning crew, every farm in the state. Texas would collapse if every illegal alien disappeared tomorrow.

We need COHERENT, WORKABLE policy. Not this stupid "build the wall" bullshit.

I used to vote for Democrats. I would vote for DeSantis in a heartbeat. For this issue and for his stance on vaccine mandates and his views on education.

You just totally deflected from the above question. Where is AOC?? She found it important to grandstand about the border during the Trump presidency. But under Biden's disastrous border "policies," she is silent. So curious.

Complete bullshit.

Abbott's stupid little plan caused massive delays costing businesses and Texas taxpayers tens of millions of dollars and DID NOT FIND A SINGLE ILLEGAL OR EVEN ONE GRAM OF DRUGS.

Funny how you folks dosed on right wing media never got that part of the story.

Last time I checked, she represents New York voters, not the border. Why the bizarre psychotic fixation on AOC?
